Description

The AV Fleet Data Engineering team handles the design, requirements, integration, validation and execution of end-to-end data needs for autonomous driving and ADAS.

The company builds vehicles, hardware, battery systems, software and safety and entertainment features, and the team works across these product areas.

The team runs connected test fleets, benches, simulation environments and vehicle tests.

Responsibilities

  • Own the calibration strategy, configuration work and calibration deliverables for ADAS data recording and retail AV data collection.
  • Integrate data recording software, applications and configuration files into vehicles, benches, SoC platforms and simulation setups.
  • Drive calibration and integration for new software releases, from configuration creation through testing, deployment and release readiness.
  • Write test plans and test cases, run formal end-to-end validation, log defects and report results.
  • Run data collection campaigns: define configurations, deploy them to target fleets, watch recording performance, review campaign metrics and support staged rollouts.
  • Lead issue triage from first symptom to root cause, corrective action, verification and reporting to software and platform teams.
  • Build monitoring and alerting for connected test fleets and use data to catch problems before downstream users see them.
  • Coach calibration engineers and partner teams through guidance, documentation, training and knowledge sharing.
  • Support vehicle proliferation, regional calibration, software releases and production deployments as needed.
  • Work closely with software, systems, platform, quality, data engineering and ADAS feature teams to keep recording configurations accurate, reliable and scalable for product development, fleet monitoring, machine learning data, regulatory needs and customer-driven improvements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of engineering experience, including automotive software integration, calibration, validation or data collection systems.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven record of leading complex cross-functional engineering work.
  • Solid grasp of vehicle electrical and software systems, embedded applications, data pipelines and system integration.
  • Experience building and deploying production calibrations or configuration files across several vehicle programs or software releases.
  • Strong analytical skills and a track record of solving unusual or complex technical problems.
  • Clear written and spoken communication, including explaining technical issues to engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to mentor engineers and shape technical decisions across organizational boundaries.
  • You must be able to legally drive a motor vehicle on a regular basis and pass a Motor Vehicle Report review.
  • Preferred: Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, Python, shell scripting or test automation frameworks.
  • Preferred: Experience with Grafana or similar tools for dashboards, monitoring and alerting.
  • Preferred: Experience with CAN, LIN, GMLAN, FlexRay, Ethernet and other vehicle communication protocols.
  • Preferred: Experience with QNX, Linux, Azure or other embedded and cloud environments.
  • Preferred: DFSS Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
