Description

This role supports the design and delivery of Finance reporting, analytics, data products and process-improvement work, and sits onsite as the analytical partner to Finance stakeholders.

You work alongside the Finance Product Owner and link the business with application, data engineering and reporting teams.

The role suits someone who pairs Finance and ERP process knowledge with solid SQL, data analysis and BI skills, and who works where business logic meets data engineering. Deep AI/ML engineering experience is not needed.

Success in this role means understanding Finance processes, ERP applications, system integrations, key data models and reporting dependencies; acting as a trusted onsite partner who validates requirements between Finance and technical teams; delivering accurate, clear and fast dashboards that stakeholders use daily; reconciling data across systems on your own; strengthening reporting reliability, monitoring and self-service use; and helping Finance teams adopt automation and AI-assisted analytics where they clearly add value.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Finance Product Owner and Finance stakeholders to learn their processes, controls and reporting needs, then turn them into functional and data requirements, business rules, report specs, user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Build and maintain Finance dashboards, published data sources, BI data models, operational reports and self-service analytics in Tableau, Power BI or a similar platform.
  • Map end-to-end processes and data flows across the ERP (SAP), CRM, billing, data warehouse and reporting platforms.
  • Use advanced SQL and analytical tools to reconcile data, check business rules, investigate discrepancies and find root causes.
  • Improve dashboard usability, query speed, data refresh schedules, metric consistency and overall reporting reliability.
  • Lead assigned workstreams through requirements, solution design, UAT, regression testing, reconciliation, implementation readiness and stakeholder sign-off, and keep data definitions, report specifications, test evidence, user guides and governance documents current.
  • Support automated monitoring, exception handling and data-quality controls for financially significant and SOX-governed reporting.
  • Work with application, Data Engineering, Data Science, AI and platform teams, and coordinate and review the output of onsite and offshore resources.
  • Assess and help implement intelligent alerts, natural-language analytics, AI-assisted analysis and workflow automation within core Finance processes.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of progressive experience in business intelligence, Finance analytics, reporting, business systems analysis or enterprise data work.
  • Working knowledge of SAP or another enterprise ERP, including Finance processes and how data moves between systems.
  • Expert SQL for complex queries, source-to-target reconciliation, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and query tuning.
  • Hands-on experience building dashboards, BI data models, calculated metrics, published data sources and self-service solutions in Tableau, Power BI or a comparable enterprise analytics platform.
  • Solid grasp of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, semantic layers, data quality, lineage and visualization practice.
  • Track record of turning business needs into technical specifications and leading UAT, regression testing, issue resolution and business-readiness work.
  • Proven ability to explain complex business, system and data topics to technical teams, Finance stakeholders and senior leaders without formal authority over them.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Data Analytics or a related field.
  • Preferred: Experience with SAP Finance, Salesforce, CPQ/CLM, billing or revenue-management platforms.
  • Preferred: Experience with Snowflake or another modern cloud data platform.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting financially significant applications, internal controls or SOX-governed reporting.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with data governance, master data management (MDM), metadata, lineage and data-quality frameworks.
  • Preferred: Exposure to AI-assisted analytics, natural-language querying, intelligent monitoring, Snowflake Cortex or similar emerging technologies.
  • Preferred: Experience coordinating and reviewing the work of distributed onsite and offshore analysts or consultants.
