Senior Automation Test Lead

This senior role sits in applications development. You will stand up and deliver new or changed software applications alongside the Technology Team, leading the analysis and programming work.

The company runs a portfolio-wide test automation transformation initiative, called TLFT, that reaches well beyond conventional testing. It needs central leadership across applications, several technology stacks, AI-enabled testing platforms, automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.

This is a dedicated role to set standards, drive uptake of FAST and Playwright, run governance and reporting, and deliver a target state of scalable, measurable regression automation that runs with one click. The goal is higher automation maturity, less manual testing, faster delivery and better quality.

Responsibilities

• Own the enterprise roadmap for test automation across many applications and delivery teams.
• Set governance, standards, metrics, reporting and good practice for quality engineering and automation.
• Lead the move of automation assets from Selenium (Java) to Playwright (TypeScript) and modernize the automation architecture.
• Promote the FAST Automation Framework and keep improving it.
• Champion AI-enabled testing with tools such as Devin, GitHub Copilot, agentic AI solutions and intelligent test generation platforms.
• Work with Engineering and DevOps to build automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and set automated quality gates.
• Deliver one-click execution for smoke, regression, end-to-end, release certification and production validation testing.
• Give technical direction for UI, API, database, batch and end-to-end automation.
• Grow automation coverage across web applications, back-end services, APIs, databases, batch processes and enterprise integrations.
• Oversee validation involving Oracle databases, SQL and PL/SQL queries, data reconciliation, AutoSys scheduling and batch workflows.
• Build reusable Unix/Linux shell utilities for test execution, environment checks, deployment verification, monitoring and reporting.
• Create executive dashboards and KPIs covering automation maturity, coverage, execution stability, defect leakage and quality trends.
• Manage and mentor automation leads, engineers and partner staff across geographically distributed teams.
• Work with Architecture, Product, Development, Infrastructure, Operations and UAT to keep automation aligned with enterprise quality goals.
• Lead continuous improvement in automation efficiency, maintainability, scalability and operational excellence.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience delivering projects.
• Background in analysing systems and writing software application code.
• Recognized subject matter expert in testing.
• Working knowledge of the client's core business functions.
• Proven leadership, project management and development skills.
• Ability to build relationships and reach consensus.
• Bachelor's degree or university degree, or equivalent experience.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Working knowledge of test automation strategy and governance.
• Working knowledge of the FAST Automation Framework.
• Working knowledge of Playwright (TypeScript) and Selenium (Java).
• Working knowledge of CI/CD integration.
• Working knowledge of AI-assisted testing and development tools, including Devin, Copilot and AI agents.
• Working knowledge of Oracle Database, SQL and PL/SQL.
• Working knowledge of AutoSys scheduler and batch validation.
• Working knowledge of Unix/Linux and shell scripting.
• Working knowledge of API, UI, database, integration and end-to-end automation.
• Working knowledge of Agile, DevOps and quality engineering practices.
• Experience leading an enterprise application portfolio.

Conditions

Full-time position.

Salary range in the primary location: $145,100.00 to $217,700.00.
