Description

The company is a consultancy focused on Applied AI and Agentic Automation. It helps large enterprises turn automation projects and AI experiments into governed, production-grade systems that carry out real work across workflows, processes, products and services.

The company's background is in large-scale enterprise automation. Its current direction covers autonomous agents, AI engineering squads, process orchestration, data and knowledge foundations, and human-in-the-loop governance built into client operations.

The team focuses on working AI systems, measurable results and repeatable transformation programmes rather than hype.

The role is for a Senior Automation Engineer who will design, build and deliver enterprise automation using UiPath, Automation Anywhere and Python. You will write code in all three technologies yourself rather than only overseeing delivery.

You will own technical delivery from design and build through testing, deployment and optimisation, working with clients and distributed delivery teams. The role is remote within the UK, with occasional travel for client work, project workshops and team activities.

As an L3 engineer, you will solve complex technical problems on your own, help raise code quality and engineering standards, and support less experienced colleagues. You will not be a dedicated people manager.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test and deploy resilient automation solutions in UiPath, Automation Anywhere A360 and Python.
  • Take ownership of the full automation lifecycle, from solution design and documentation to release and optimisation after go-live.
  • Build integrations with REST APIs, databases and enterprise applications, and write maintainable Python applications and components that go well beyond scripts.
  • Create reusable components and frameworks that apply secure coding, exception handling, logging and operational monitoring.
  • Find and fix complex failures, integration faults and performance problems in development and production.
  • Apply engineering standards covering Git, peer review, automated testing and CI/CD, and help keep deployments reliable.
  • Work with architects, technical leads, analysts and clients to turn business needs into practical technical solutions.
  • Help with estimation, technical documentation, knowledge sharing and mentoring of junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Stay up to date with automation technology and spot practical ways to improve delivery and client results.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of hands-on experience designing, building and delivering RPA or intelligent automation. The four years do not need to be spent in each technology separately.
  • Strong hands-on UiPath experience, including Studio, Orchestrator and REFramework.
  • Strong hands-on Automation Anywhere experience, especially Automation 360 (A360) and Control Room.
  • Strong practical Python skills beyond basic scripting, covering maintainable code, applications, integrations or reusable components.
  • Proven recent experience building solutions across UiPath, Automation Anywhere and Python.
  • Experience owning a solution from design and build through testing, deployment and support.
  • Solid software engineering skills, including debugging, exception handling, reusable code and testing.
  • Experience with REST APIs, SQL and databases, JSON, Git and enterprise system integration.
  • Ability to investigate complex problems, explain things clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and work alone in distributed teams.
  • Based in the UK and willing to travel occasionally for client work, project workshops and internal collaboration.
  • Nice to have: UiPath Advanced RPA Developer or an equivalent certification, or Automation Anywhere Advanced or Master RPA Professional certification.
  • Nice to have: experience with Power Automate, Power Platform or other automation technologies.
  • Nice to have: experience integrating with SAP, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics or similar enterprise applications.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with Azure, AWS or Google Cloud, and with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
  • Nice to have: experience with intelligent document processing, such as UiPath Document Understanding or Azure Document Intelligence.
  • Nice to have: exposure to generative AI, Agentic AI or AI-enabled automation use cases.
  • Nice to have: experience in consultancy, client-facing delivery or Agile teams.

Conditions

UK-based remote role with occasional travel for client engagements, project workshops and team activities.

The ideal candidate is a practical engineer who enjoys building reliable solutions and tackling hard problems, and who is comfortable moving between UiPath, Automation Anywhere and Python, taking ownership with little supervision, working directly with clients, writing clear code and sharing knowledge. Delivery quality and real outcomes come before technology for its own sake.

Benefits

  • Remote work in the UK, with chances to work alongside international delivery teams and clients.
  • Work across several leading automation platforms instead of being limited to one.
  • Early exposure to AI and Agentic Automation capabilities as the offering develops.
  • A collaborative specialist consultancy where initiative, technical depth and practical problem-solving are valued.
  • Room to grow your technical skills and help build the company's automation practice.
  • The company is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected characteristics.
