Senior Application and Software Developer

Description

The company is an IT firm that handles complex public sector projects, covering systems integration, informatics and analytics, solution implementation and program management. It was acquired by Accenture in July 2024.

The role is a senior position building and maintaining software components and integrations within large enterprise environments, working with an Agile team.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, configure and document software components according to approved designs and architecture.
• Design, develop and integrate application components, services and APIs in complex enterprise settings.
• Turn technical specifications and user requirements into software that is easy to maintain.
• Build interoperability components and reusable modules that follow established integration frameworks.
• Develop web and multi-tier applications with current frameworks, tools and languages.
• Write and run unit tests, integration tests and automated test scripts using the approved toolset.
• Connect applications to external systems, APIs, messaging platforms and interoperability services.
• Review code for quality, security, maintainability and compliance with development standards.
• Support deployment, configuration, troubleshooting and ongoing improvement of software.
• Help prepare and update technical documentation, installation guides and operating manuals.
• Coach junior developers and share knowledge across the development team.
• Work with architects, analysts, testers, DevOps engineers and business stakeholders throughout the software lifecycle.
• Help the team adopt development best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of relevant IT experience, including at least 5 years as a software and application developer.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent (Level 6) in an ICT-relevant field.
• At least 1 year of active use of CASE tools, Visio or equivalent modelling and development tools.
• At least 5 years of Java work with frameworks such as Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Java EE/Jakarta EE, Hibernate, JPA or similar.
• At least 3 years working in Agile teams using tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps or equivalent.
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, object-oriented programming, design patterns and enterprise application development.
• Experience building web applications, multi-tier architectures, RESTful and SOAP services and distributed systems.
• Experience connecting applications to external systems through APIs, messaging platforms, interoperability frameworks or service-oriented architectures.
• Experience designing and running unit tests, integration tests, automated tests and quality assurance checks.
• Experience with deployment, configuration, CI/CD pipelines, container platforms and modern delivery practices.
• Ability to read technical designs, architecture specifications and system models and turn them into working software.
• Experience in code reviews and applying secure coding, quality assurance and engineering best practices.
• Experience mentoring or guiding junior developers and sharing technical knowledge within a team.
• Strong communication, analysis, problem-solving and documentation skills, and the ability to work in an international, multicultural setting.
