Description

The company is building a sportsbook and iGaming platform on top of its digital sports business, which covers fan commerce, collectibles, and betting and gaming. It has a database of over 100 million fans, around 900 sports partners, and more than 2,000 retail locations.

The digital collecting team sits within the collectibles business and runs collecting apps across sports and entertainment brands, including MLB, NFL, NBA, Global Football, WWE, UFC, Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars. It takes decades of trading card history into a mobile-first format.

This is a senior individual contributor role with thought leadership expected. You will work directly with functional leads to shape how the business measures performance and makes decisions. The team wants someone self-driven and curious who challenges assumptions, asks why, and brings fresh ideas rather than only answering the question asked.

Responsibilities

  • Own complex, cross-functional analysis from an unclear business problem through scoping and analysis to a recommendation ready for a decision.
  • Run analyses that test business opportunities and inform key calls, including scenario work and sizing of impact.
  • Apply statistical rigor and structured problem-solving to explain what is driving results and what to do next, not just report them.
  • Find root causes rather than symptoms, and turn findings into specific, actionable recommendations.
  • Present findings to stakeholders and senior leaders, and defend your methods when they are questioned.
  • Define KPIs and their methodology, then build the pipelines and visuals behind them.
  • Create dashboards, automated reports, and AI-driven insight tools within Databricks.
  • Automate operational workflows to cut recurring manual data pulls and repetitive manual decisions.
  • Standardize reporting and align processes across cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain a trusted source of truth for internal business questions.
  • Build and upkeep a knowledge repository that feeds the business's AI chat agent.
  • Design the logic that lets the chat agent answer business questions accurately.
  • Create evaluation frameworks and guardrails that decide when the agent runs on its own and when a person should review its output.

Requirements

  • 6+ years in analytics engineering, business intelligence, or a related field.
  • Advanced SQL skills to write, QA, and optimize complex queries on large, messy datasets without help.
  • Experience building and maintaining dashboards in Tableau, Power BI, QuickSight, Looker, or similar BI tools.
  • Hands-on work with AWS cloud data services and the Databricks platform, such as Delta Lake, Databricks SQL, and workflow orchestration.
  • A track record of owning complex cross-functional projects from a vague request to a stakeholder-ready recommendation.
  • Experience bringing AI tools into analytics workflows.
  • Strong organization and the ability to juggle several projects at once.
  • Experience with Asana or Jira, and familiarity with agile methods.
  • Working command of statistical methods, including experimental design and hypothesis testing, regression, causal inference, time-series forecasting, multivariate analysis, segmentation and clustering, and Bayesian methods, applied to business problems.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication, including presenting to leaders, explaining complex problems simply, and proposing other approaches when the data supports them.
  • High standards for data quality and accuracy, catching issues before they reach leadership reporting.
  • Preferred: experience with Python, R, or other statistical programming languages.
  • Preferred: background in e-commerce, sports, entertainment, or mobile gaming.
  • Preferred: a genuine interest in the company's collectibles, mobile apps and gaming, and sports.
