Description

The company is an early-stage, AI-native cybersecurity company building an intelligent exposure and risk management platform on a cloud-native SaaS base, and is preparing for commercial launch.

You will help advance the AI and intelligence-processing side of the platform, turning complex security data into analysis, relationships, risk explanations and recommendations.

The company is self-funded and expanding its engineering team, so this suits someone who wants to help shape the product from its early stages.

Industries: artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, SaaS. Experience level: senior or principal.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and integrate AI-powered features into the existing SaaS platform.
  • Create systems that analyse, interpret and correlate complex security data.
  • Build AI-assisted decision support and recommendation features, plus contextual reasoning and intelligent automation workflows.
  • Improve the accuracy, reliability, explainability and performance of AI-generated insights.
  • Build secure, scalable and maintainable AI services.
  • Develop data processing and enrichment features.
  • Design ways to correlate information from several security sources.
  • Strengthen vulnerability analysis, exposure intelligence and risk prioritisation.
  • Find and model relationships between assets, vulnerabilities and security findings.
  • Support evidence-based security assessments and remediation advice.
  • Raise the quality, consistency and traceability of security intelligence.
  • Integrate AI features into application services and workflows, working alongside application and infrastructure engineers.
  • Build scalable APIs and backend services.
  • Improve system performance, reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Help shape architecture decisions, engineering standards and technical documentation.
  • Support testing, deployment and production readiness.

Requirements

  • Substantial professional experience in software engineering, AI or a related field.
  • Proven experience building and deploying production-grade AI applications.
  • Solid backend development and API integration skills.
  • Experience with machine learning, generative AI or intelligent data processing.
  • Strong grasp of scalable architecture and distributed systems.
  • Experience adding AI to enterprise or SaaS products.
  • Able to design, build, test and ship reliable software on your own.
  • Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Nice to have: experience with cybersecurity, risk management or security analytics solutions.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with vulnerability management, exposure analysis or security intelligence.
  • Nice to have: experience building intelligent automation or decision-support systems.
  • Nice to have: understanding of cloud-native applications and multi-tenant SaaS architectures.
  • Nice to have: experience at early-stage technology companies.
  • Nice to have: previous technical leadership or architecture experience.

Conditions

Initially a flexible part-time or contract engagement.

Pay and terms are set case by case, based on your qualifications, availability, responsibilities and project scope.

Works best for someone comfortable collaborating closely in a lean engineering team.

Possible future paths include principal engineer, AI architect or AI engineering lead roles, greater ownership of AI architecture and strategy, and leadership as the team grows.

Possible longer-term work as the business grows, and possible expanded compensation or equity, subject to company approval and mutually agreed terms.

Equal opportunity: applicants are considered without regard to protected characteristics.

Benefits

  • Work directly on an emerging AI-native cybersecurity platform and help influence its technical direction.
  • Tackle real engineering problems aimed at real-world security challenges.
  • The company values technical excellence, practical innovation, professional integrity and ownership.
