Senior AI Engineer

Description

The company builds the operating system for modern finance, an enterprise platform that combines financial and operational data, uses AI to support better decisions, and helps CFOs drive business strategy.

Teams are spread across continents and time zones.

This role sits in the team that turns AI research into products delivering measurable value to end users, with a direct effect on product performance and scalability across markets.

You will own AI and software subsystems end to end, from gathering requirements and designing systems to planning projects and building them. You will also lead work with Solution Engineering, AI Delivery, and Cloud Engineering, and guide other engineers toward high-quality results.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance applications and services across front-end and back-end technologies.
• Design software subsystems and drive project management so they ship on time.
• Build AI systems and features with Python and SQL.
• Find and fix issues across the stack, from the user interface down to the database layer.
• Lead technical design sessions to break down complex systems and interfaces so they meet technical and user needs.
• Run code reviews, give technical direction, and mentor junior engineers.
• Plan product releases strategically and tactically for the wider team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, electrical or computer engineering, or similar experience.
• 3-5 years building and deploying production machine learning solutions, or similar experience.
• 3-5 years of Python, or similar experience.
• Skill in database schema design.
• Proficiency with distributed systems and cloud-based computing.
• Quick to learn and teach yourself new technologies.
• Able to juggle several activities and set priorities by importance.
• Write code using long-lasting software design patterns such as dependency injection and volatility decomposition.
• Adapt to changes in technology and in the business.
• Strong at analyzing problems, tracing them to root causes, and resolving them systematically.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to mentor engineers and lead project teams.
• Organized enough to lead complex projects to schedule.
• Comfortable presenting to peers, and at times to C-level executives.
• Preferred: experience with web services and API frameworks such as Flask or FastAPI.
• Preferred: knowledge of distributed systems and cloud-based computing.

Conditions

Hybrid role.

Gross annual base salary of $131,000 to $170,000 USD.

Total pay depends on experience, skills, and location, judged by objective, job-related criteria. Variable pay and additional benefits may also apply.
