Description

The role sits in Analytical Data Science, part of Product Development Data Sciences at the company, and covers clinical development from early to late stage.

The team works across the portfolio to produce data-driven insights, find opportunities to scale, and build practical solutions. It is an agile group that delivers regulatory commitments and adopts digital and automation tools across statistical programming.

The company has more than 100,000 employees worldwide and develops medicines and diagnostic products.

Responsibilities

  • Build and check SDTM and ADaM datasets, plus tables, listings, and figures, so they meet regulatory requirements, internal processes, and traceability standards.
  • Work independently on programming outputs for biomarker and real-world data, supporting both regulatory and scientific goals.
  • Join exploratory analyses across disease and therapeutic areas to help shape drug development strategy.
  • Help build and improve dashboards and analytical applications that let scientific and clinical teams explore integrated data.
  • Lead programming for assigned studies, coordinating deliverables with internal and external partners to hit timelines.
  • Turn statistical analysis plans into executable programming specifications that keep outputs scientifically sound.
  • Solve technical problems with limited supervision, spot risks early, and keep work on schedule.
  • Design and maintain standard macros and reusable components that make work consistent across studies.
  • Document workflows and keep audit trails so study files are complete, traceable, and ready for inspection.
  • Coordinate timelines and deliverables with biostatistics, data management, and clinical operations.
  • Take part in process improvement and learning to build knowledge of clinical research and programming standards.
  • Use the Insight Engine to explore clinical and exploratory data in near real time.

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • Have at least 5 years of statistical programming experience in clinical development, or an advanced degree plus 3 years of equivalent experience.
  • Know a modern language such as SAS or R, along with visualization and review tools.
  • Understand statistical quality, endpoints, and QC processes well.
  • Have experience with CDISC standards such as SDTM and ADaM.
  • Handle and analyze multi-modal data.
  • Have a record of delivering programming output on your own.
  • Respect cultural differences when working with colleagues across the world.
  • Preferred: attention to detail for regulatory submissions and their documentation.
  • Preferred: critical thinking, strong organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred: experience on cross-functional global study teams.
  • Preferred: ability to explain complex statistics to non-statisticians.
  • Preferred: experience across early and/or late-stage drug development.
  • Preferred: clear communication that influences decisions and makes complex data understandable to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Preferred: willingness to adapt and grow as priorities shift.
