Its work covers AI, consulting, digital, cloud and DevOps, data, and software engineering, mainly for financial services and technology firms.
Through its FinLabs research and development group, it builds modernization solutions such as AI, blockchain, data science models, digital underwriting, and mobile-first applications.
The company has operated for over 20 years and has more than 17,000 employees across 58 offices in 22 countries.
In this role you will design, build, tune, and maintain enterprise semantic models, analytical cubes, reports, and dashboards.
The ideal candidate has deep skill in Power BI, SSAS Tabular, DAX, SQL, dimensional modelling, and data warehousing, plus proven delivery work in banking or financial services.
Much of the work is turning complex business and financial reporting needs into models that scale, follow governance rules, and perform well.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain enterprise Power BI semantic models that are scalable and governed.
Develop and support SSAS Tabular models and, where applicable, multidimensional OLAP cubes.
Turn banking and financial reporting requirements into analytical models.
Design reusable model parts such as tables, relationships, measures, calculation logic, hierarchies, perspectives, and business-friendly metadata.
Write complex DAX measures, calculated columns, calculation groups, and time intelligence logic.
Build and maintain MDX calculations and cube components where multidimensional SSAS is in use.
Create reusable semantic layers that serve many reports, dashboards, analytical products, and business functions.
Review existing cube and semantic model designs and recommend changes that improve scalability, maintainability, usability, and performance.
Create logical and physical data models based on dimensional modelling principles.
Build star and snowflake schemas with fact tables, dimension tables, hierarchies, keys, and relationships.
Work with enterprise data warehouses, data marts, operational data stores, and cloud data platforms.
Set model granularity, aggregation approaches, relationship behaviour, and data access patterns.
Help move legacy cubes and reporting models to Power BI or modern tabular semantic models.
Keep business definitions consistent across reports and the applications that consume them.
Maintain clear data lineage from source systems through transformation layers to semantic models and reports.
Build Power BI reports and dashboards on top of governed semantic models.
Create complex, reusable DAX measures for financial, operational, risk, regulatory, and management reporting.
Use Power Query and M to clean, transform, and combine data from several sources.
Choose and set up import, DirectQuery, composite, or live connection options based on business and technical needs.
Add drill-down, drill-through, hierarchies, bookmarks, tooltips, and other analysis features where needed.
Publish and manage semantic models and reports in Power BI Service.
Set up and troubleshoot scheduled refreshes, gateways, connections, permissions, and deployments.
Support controlled promotion of models and reports across development, testing, UAT, and production.
Tune semantic models, DAX, SQL queries, relationships, and refresh processes.
Find the model, DAX, storage, or source system causes of slow reports and queries.
Improve performance through schema design, cardinality management, aggregations, partitioning, incremental refresh, and efficient calculations.
Optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, indexes, and data extraction that feed semantic models.
Track model size, refresh duration, query response time, capacity use, and report performance.
Resolve production problems with model processing, refresh failures, data latency, security, and report speed.
Requirements
You have at least 10 years of experience in business intelligence, data warehousing, analytics, data modelling, or reporting development.
You have worked in banking or financial services.
You have hands-on experience building enterprise Power BI semantic models.
You have strong experience with SSAS Tabular, Azure Analysis Services, or a similar enterprise tabular platform.
SSAS Multidimensional or OLAP cube development is strongly preferred and may be mandatory if the current environment uses multidimensional cubes.
