Security Engineer

Description

The team needs an experienced Security Engineer to help run security operations, handle incidents, and drive ongoing security improvements in a large, complex enterprise setting.

The company is a European firm that helps organizations cope with constant technology change and works across business and society on an international basis.

Responsibilities

• Protect and strengthen the organization's security setup by investigating incidents, rolling out technical fixes, and working with IT colleagues to keep the environment secure and resilient.
• Look into security incidents and respond to them.
• Carry out security hardening and other technical improvements.
• Give technical security guidance and hands-on support.
• Run and secure Microsoft identity services, including Active Directory and Entra ID.
• Help advance endpoint security and follow good practice in that area.
• Assess security and find weaknesses.
• Write and keep up Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Refine security documentation, processes, and day-to-day operating procedures.
• Work alongside infrastructure, operations, and security teams.
• Support continuous security monitoring and efforts to reduce risk.

Requirements

• You have proven experience in security engineering, cybersecurity, or incident response.
• You know Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID well.
• You have a good grasp of Microsoft infrastructure and endpoint security.
• You have investigated and resolved security incidents.
• You are strong at troubleshooting and analysis.
• You can work independently in a complex enterprise environment.
• You have experience with Microsoft Intune.
• You can script in PowerShell or another scripting language.
• You have experience with security hardening.
• You have handled vulnerability management and risk assessments.
• You have used security assessment tools.
• You have written security procedures and SOPs.
• You hold relevant Microsoft or cybersecurity certifications.
• Language: Dutch at fluent level.
• Language: English at professional proficiency level.
