Description

The company is a technology firm working with the US federal government. Its clients span defense, national security, public safety, civilian agencies, and military health, and it has more than 13,000 people.

This Scrum Master role leads a team that assesses, plans, and moves applications to a new hosting environment, working in an Agile framework.

The role blends standard Scrum Master work with technical leadership for complex application migrations. You will help the team collaborate, deliver results, and hit business goals with smooth delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Run the main Scrum events: Program Increment (PI) Planning, Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Clear blockers so the team can keep performing well and adapt quickly.
  • Help team members learn and improve their use of Agile and Scrum practices.
  • Work with Product Owners to manage and rank the product backlog.
  • Assess current applications, covering architecture, dependencies, and performance.
  • Check how well each application fits a new hosting environment and flag migration risks and challenges.
  • Design migration approaches for each application, from lift-and-shift through refactoring or re-architecting.
  • Split high-level goals into concrete tasks, with clear deliverables and timelines for the team.
  • Work with technical teams to pick the right migration method for each application, such as rehosting, refactoring, or re-architecting.
  • Coordinate with other teams and Agile Release Trains (ARTs) so work stays aligned across the organization.
  • Track progress, risks, and issues with Agile metrics and project tracking tools, and report them.
  • Keep stakeholders at every level informed about progress and any problems.
  • Work with Product Management so migration plans match wider business priorities.
  • Work with operations teams to make the handover of migrated applications smooth and complete.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience, including Agile work and technical project leadership.
  • A Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or an equivalent Agile certification, such as SAFe or PSM.
  • A solid grasp of cloud technologies and application migration strategies.
  • Hands-on skill with Agile project management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience leading or working on an Agile SAP project or team.
  • Bonus points: familiarity with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is a plus.
