SAP ABAP Developer - SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll

Description

The company is a technology firm within a global consulting group, with about 13,000 people serving US federal government clients in defense, national security, public safety, civilian, and military health.

This role leads complex analysis, design, coding, and testing for SAP ABAP work that supports payroll on the SAP platform.

The team works on projects that help federal agencies run their missions more effectively.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve custom ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms (RICEFW objects) for SAP payroll processes.
• Turn business requirements from clients into detailed technical designs and enterprise application specifications.
• Work with SAP HCM and payroll functional consultants and client staff to weigh options and recommend technical approaches.
• Write programming specifications, technical design documents, diagrams, and logic flowcharts for changes and installations.
• Debug, tune performance, and troubleshoot custom ABAP code and standard SAP payroll objects.
• Contribute to budgeting, staffing, forecasting, and work planning.
• Lead a team, mentoring and training junior developers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience, which is the core requirement.
• Strong ABAP skills, including object-oriented ABAP, BAPIs/RFCs, IDocs, user exits and the enhancement framework, Smart Forms and SAPscript, and custom report and interface development.
• Experience building and supporting custom objects in an SAP payroll landscape.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with SAP Payroll Control Center solutions.
• Knowledge of SAP Payroll and ECP technical architecture and payroll data.
• Experience building payroll validations, exception checks, and PCC-related technical components.
• ABAP development skills, especially within an SAP HCM and payroll environment.
• Ability to read payroll functional specifications and turn them into technical solutions.
• Experience troubleshooting PCC and payroll technical issues.
• Bonus: background in SAP HCM Payroll functional areas such as schemas, PCRs, and payroll driver customization.
• Bonus: experience with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll.

Pay for this role in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia is $91,700 - $206,200 USD.

Actual pay depends on factors such as office location, role, skill set, and experience.
