Description

The company is hiring a senior Scrum Master for the Global Mission Operations Support (GMOS) contract, which supports the Department of State.

The contract provides IT support by modernizing and maintaining applications and infrastructure through an integrated IT Service Management approach.

You will work with experienced professionals and guide a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

  • Run Agile processes for several engineering teams modernizing infrastructure, networks and IT services across physical data centers, cloud environments and more than 350 facilities worldwide.
  • Coach engineering teams in advanced Agile practices, including SAFe, so their work matches DT/EA/CST SDLC methodologies, governance reviews and Department modernization goals.
  • Clear complex organizational blockers and manage dependencies between teams on infrastructure consolidation, cloud adoption, software-defined networking and automated deployment.
  • Do senior technical work such as designing infrastructure, disaster recovery setups and capacity plans, and validating operational designs for critical systems with redundant failover.
  • Work with the Engineering and Implementation Manager and Product Owners to build and keep up engineering program backlogs covering redundant designs, failover and disaster recovery.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, tune database performance, configure enterprise monitoring tools and write automation scripts for CI/CD pipelines.
  • Create and run Agile metrics and reports that track delivery, including deployment timelines, design review cycles and documentation completeness.
  • Lead hands-on technical work on infrastructure migrations, including reviewing cloud architecture, checking security configurations, testing automated provisioning and resolving integration issues.
  • Bring together engineering teams, Architecture Review Boards and Change Management Control Boards so designs include security best practices and NIST standards compliance.
  • Mentor junior Scrum Masters and coach teams on continuous improvement, capacity planning, performance tuning and modernization work.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree plus 8 years of experience in related fields such as Agile coaching, Scrum Master work, infrastructure engineering, IT project management or DevOps engineering. Equivalent experience is considered.
  • An active Secret clearance.
  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master for technical teams delivering infrastructure, network and cloud modernization.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Agile methods, including Scrum and SAFe, and in delivery practices for complex infrastructure projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of infrastructure engineering, cloud architectures, disaster recovery, CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
  • Excellent facilitation and coaching skills, with a record of removing impediments, managing cross-team dependencies and leading major technical initiatives.
  • Desired: experience supporting federal agencies, especially the Department of State.
  • Desired: certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), SAFe Agilist (SA) or Advanced Certified Scrum Master (A-CSM).

Conditions

The proposed salary range is $103,800 to $218,100. Final pay depends on factors such as location, Federal Government labor categories and contract wage rates, prior experience, skills, education and certifications.

Full-time position. Up to 10% local travel. Requires a Secret clearance to start.

The company offers flexible work time, competitive pay and a broad benefits package covering healthcare, wellness, financial, retirement, family support, continuing education and time off.

Benefits

  • Flexible time off, so you can take the time you need.
  • Access to learning resources for career development.
  • Healthcare, wellness, financial, retirement, family support, continuing education and time off benefits.
