SASE & Security Presales Specialist

Description

This is a remote role, so you will mostly work from home.

The company is an edge-to-cloud technology firm, and this team works on secure connectivity across the Eastern United States.

The candidate must live in the New England area or in Tennessee.

You will sit in the HPE Networking SASE and Security Specialist team and work with account managers, partners and enterprise customers in a customer-facing technical role.

You will design, position and demonstrate secure network architectures built on HPE Aruba Networking SASE, covering secure SD-WAN and cloud-delivered Security Service Edge (SSE).

You will also help customers see the value of the combined HPE and Juniper Networks security portfolio, which includes Zero Trust, SSE, SD-WAN and next-generation firewalls, and explain how these products protect users, applications and data in distributed environments.

The role suits a technically strong presales person who likes combining architecture, storytelling and hands-on demos to solve real customer security problems.

Responsibilities

• Run technical discovery sessions to learn about a customer's business goals, network setup and security needs.
• Design and explain scalable SASE and Zero Trust architectures that use secure SD-WAN, SSE, identity-based access and firewalls.
• Give product demos, workshops and proof-of-concepts for HPE Aruba Networking SASE, including SD-WAN, ZTNA, SWG, CASB and DEM use cases.
• Place and integrate solutions within the wider HPE and Juniper networking and security portfolio, including next-generation firewalls and data-center-to-cloud security designs.
• Write RFP and RFI responses and security questionnaire answers, with accurate technical documents and diagrams.
• Work with account managers, specialist peers, partners and services teams to close deals.
• Present to technical staff and executives, including security leaders and architects.
• Pass field feedback to product management and engineering to shape the roadmap and product improvements.
• Travel across the Eastern U.S. for customer meetings, partner events, workshops and industry events, mostly within the region, with occasional wider travel.

Requirements

• 5+ years in technical presales, sales engineering or solution architecture in networking, security or cloud.
• Hands-on work with SASE, SSE, Zero Trust, SD-WAN or cloud-delivered security architectures.
• Good knowledge of security technologies such as firewalls, IPsec, SSL-VPN, IDS/IPS and traffic inspection.
• Solid networking basics, including TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, HTTP/S, BGP and OSPF.
• Familiarity with identity and access concepts such as SSO, SAML, OAuth, OIDC and role-based access control.
• Working knowledge of AWS, Azure and/or Google Cloud.
• Comfortable giving live demos, sketching architectures on a whiteboard and running customer POCs.
• Strong communication skills, able to turn complex technical ideas into clear business value.
• Self-motivated and collaborative, and at ease in a fast-moving, team-based sales setting.
• Preferred: experience with HPE Aruba Networking products such as EdgeConnect SD-WAN, Aruba Networking SSE, Aruba Central and ClearPass.
• Preferred: exposure to HPE Juniper security products, especially SRX firewalls or their management platforms.
• Preferred: certifications such as CISSP, CCNP, Security+ or relevant cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Preferred: presales experience with enterprise or large commercial customers.
• Preferred: familiarity with compliance or security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001 or Zero Trust maturity models.

Conditions

Mostly remote, based in New England or Tennessee, with travel across the Eastern U.S.

Annual base salary in the United States ranges from $178,000 to $420,000, based on location, experience, education and skill.

That range is the combined base and target sales pay at 100% of sales plan, split 75% base and 25% target sales compensation.
