Description

The role is onsite, with most of your work done from a company office.

The company helps businesses connect, protect, analyze and act on their data and applications across edge and cloud environments.

You will join the cybersecurity sales team as an intern and get hands-on exposure to business development, customer engagement and the sales cycle.

You do not need prior cybersecurity or sales experience. Curiosity, clear communication and a willingness to learn matter most.

You will gain practical B2B software sales and pipeline experience, feedback from sales professionals, skills in account research, prospecting, CRM use and customer communication, insight into how security software meets customer needs, and chances to observe sales conversations and work across sales and marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Research target accounts, key contacts and customer business needs using approved tools and public sources.
  • Help qualify inbound leads and book introductory meetings for sales representatives.
  • Reach out by email, phone and professional networking, working under the sales team's direction.
  • Keep CRM account records, activity notes and follow-up tasks accurate and up to date.
  • Prepare for meetings and help build presentations and customer follow-up materials.
  • Work with marketing on campaigns, events and lead follow-up.
  • Learn the company's software security offerings and explain their business value using approved messaging.
  • Log outreach activity and share progress, questions and insights with your manager.
  • Follow company policies for responsible outreach and for handling customer and prospect information.

Requirements

  • Interest in technology sales, software security or business development.
  • Clear written and spoken communication, including asking good questions and listening closely.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to pick up new tools and work with documents, spreadsheets and presentations.
  • Initiative, teamwork and openness to feedback.
  • Availability to keep to the agreed internship schedule.
  • Preferred, not required: coursework or practical work in business, marketing, communications, computer science or a related field.
  • Preferred, not required: exposure to customer service, sales, campus organizations or other collaborative projects.
  • Preferred, not required: familiarity with CRM platforms or an interest in cybersecurity concepts.

Conditions

Onsite, primarily at an HPE office location.

Hourly base pay of USD 26.00 to 30.00 in Massachusetts; the actual offer may vary based on location, experience, education, training or skill level.

Variable incentives may also be offered on top of base salary.

Work follows the agreed internship schedule.

The company is an equal opportunity employer that decides on qualifications, merit and business need, and follows laws on arrest and conviction records.

Benefits

  • A broad benefits package covering physical, financial and emotional wellbeing, with US benefit details available through the company's new-hire enrollment site.
  • Career development programs, from becoming a subject expert to moving into another division.
  • Flexibility to manage work and personal needs.
