Description

The company is a global business and IT boutique consultancy focused on the life sciences industry, serving pharma, healthcare and animal health clients. It has over 450 employees across 25 offices worldwide and works mainly on S4HANA, data and cloud projects.

This role leads the architecture, design and rollout of scalable planning and analytics solutions in a complex SAP landscape. You will define the SAC solution architecture, design advanced planning models and connect SAC to enterprise data platforms. You will work with business stakeholders, functional consultants and technical development teams to make sure solutions meet planning, forecasting and reporting needs while staying fast, scalable and easy to maintain.

The company is in the early stages of building its presence in Japan. You will be one of the first members of the local team and help shape its growth there. You will work on projects with global clients and act as the link between the English-speaking global business and Japanese-speaking local operations where needed. The role carries high accountability and ownership, and your work will have a visible effect on outcomes.

The position is expected to lead the workstream on the client side and later take on larger projects.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the end-to-end SAC solution architecture so it fits business needs and enterprise IT standards.
  • Design SAC planning models, covering dimensions, measures, hierarchies, calculations and data structures.
  • Build scalable planning and forecasting solutions that use allocations, simulations, version management and other advanced planning features.
  • Design how SAC integrates with SAP systems, including SAP Datasphere, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/4HANA and other enterprise data sources.
  • Set architecture guidelines, data modeling standards and development best practices for SAC work.
  • Turn complex planning requirements from business and functional teams into workable technical solutions.
  • Guide and oversee the SAC front-end and back-end development teams.
  • Review designs, flag technical risks and recommend changes to improve performance, reliability and scalability.
  • Support testing, deployment planning, technical documentation and ongoing improvement of SAC planning capabilities.

Requirements

  • Extensive SAC experience, especially in solution architecture, planning model design and enterprise analytics.
  • A track record of designing and delivering end-to-end SAC planning solutions in complex SAP environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAC planning models, advanced formulas, data actions, multi-actions, allocations and version management.
  • Solid understanding of SAC architecture, data connectivity, integration patterns and performance tuning.
  • Experience connecting SAC with SAP Datasphere, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/4HANA or other enterprise data platforms.
  • Good grasp of enterprise planning processes such as financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and scenario analysis.
  • Experience setting technical architecture standards, solution design principles and data modeling practices.
  • Ability to turn complex business needs into scalable architecture and guide development teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working across business and IT.

Conditions

Based in Tokyo, Japan, working remotely, with travel to Yamagata when the client requests it.

Remote work is possible from anywhere in Japan, subject to the client project allowing it.

A temporary office in Shinbashi is available, or you may work at the client or project site.

You may work from a preferred global location for up to 25 days, with the client's permission.

Benefits

  • A competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Regular in-house workshops, academies and training sessions, which are optional.
  • CHF 1,500 (approx. 280k JPY) per year for professional development.
  • Flat hierarchies, with close mentoring from senior leaders.
  • Up to 20 days of annual vacation, depending on seniority.
  • Time off beyond standard holidays to recharge and keep a healthy work-life balance.
  • A team budget for meeting and bonding together.
  • A special gift from the company on your birthday.
  • Substantial bonuses at 5, 10 and 15 years of service.
  • A 10% annual performance bonus based on company KPIs.
  • A referral bonus if someone you refer is hired, available up to Director level.
