Risk Analytics Lead (m/f/d)

The company is hiring a Risk Analytics Lead to run a risk analytics team in Heerenveen, with flexible working conditions available.

The team supports the steering teams in setting the risk strategy, developing it further, and monitoring and steering against it. It uses data-driven insights on external customer solvency and fraud indicators to help the business make balanced risk decisions. The team builds customer risk strategies for different markets and ecosystems, and works in fast technology-based learning and decision cycles.

The company operates across DACH, the Netherlands and the Nordics, and plans to expand within Europe, for example into France, Italy, Spain and the UK.

The role reports to the Risk Analytics & Steering Lead, who reports to the global Client Underwriting Lead. Preferred locations are Luxembourg, Berlin, Verl, Baden-Baden, Amsterdam and Heerenveen.

Responsibilities

• Lead a high-performing team of risk analytics experts in an international setup.
• Make sure the team uses industry-standard analytics tools and data-driven decisions to solve complex fraud and solvency risk problems and support product expansion.
• Continuously improve the underlying data analyses, business processes and monitoring and reporting, and set best practices for ad-hoc and deep-dive analyses.
• Provide risk insights for pricing requests and work closely with internal stakeholders on analytical needs.
• Play a key part in cross-functional Risk Data Science initiatives and help enable machine learning models and advanced analytics for risk decisioning.
• Represent the Risk Analytics team in key projects, taking project responsibility for risk steering analytics and implementation.
• Work closely with Risk Product, Risk Steering, Data Science, Pricing, Financial Controlling, Sales and Operations.

Requirements

• Show a proven track record in data analytics and credit risk management, ideally in a bank, BNPL or fast-growing payments business.
• Have at least 3 years of experience leading cross-border teams in a relevant area such as credit risk analytics, ideally in an international, agile, cross-functional setting.
• Have successfully enabled machine learning models and advanced analytics for risk assessment and decisioning.
• Use SQL and Python to carry out complex analytical work.
• Embrace new technology and understand what data and advanced analytics can do.
• Think strategically and have a clear vision, while also being a hands-on operator who gets things done.
• English is mandatory. German or Dutch is a plus.

Conditions

Location is flexible. Preferred places are Luxembourg, Berlin, Verl, Baden-Baden, Amsterdam and Heerenveen.
