Risk Analytics Lead (m/f/d)

Description

The company is hiring a Risk Analytics Lead to run a risk analytics team. The role centres on data-driven insight into customers' solvency and fraud indicators, balanced against the need for sound risk decisions.

The team supports the steering teams in defining the risk strategy, developing it further, and monitoring and adjusting it over time. It builds customer risk strategies for different markets and ecosystems, working in a setting of fast technology-based learning and decision cycles.

The company has a strong presence in DACH, the Netherlands and the Nordics and plans to expand across Europe, for example into France, Italy, Spain and the UK. It is part of a family-owned group and operates across 11 countries with more than 4,000 staff.

The position is based in Baden-Baden with flexible working arrangements. Preferred locations are Luxembourg, Berlin, Verl, Baden-Baden, Amsterdam and Heerenveen.

Responsibilities

• Lead a high-performing, international team of risk analytics experts.
• Make sure the team uses industry-standard analytics tools and data-driven methods to solve complex fraud and solvency problems and to support product expansion.
• Drive ongoing improvements to data analyses, business processes and monitoring and reporting, and set best practices for ad-hoc and deep-dive analysis.
• Provide risk insights for pricing requests and work closely with internal stakeholders on their analytical needs.
• Play a key part in cross-functional Risk Data Science initiatives and help enable machine learning models and advanced analytics for risk decisions.
• Represent the Risk Analytics team in key projects, taking project responsibility for risk steering analytics and their implementation.
• Work closely with Risk Product, Risk Steering, Data Science, Pricing, Financial Controlling, Sales and Operations.

Requirements

• Show a proven track record in data analytics and credit risk management, ideally in a bank, buy-now-pay-later business or fast-growing payments company.
• Have at least 3 years of experience leading cross-border teams in a relevant area such as credit risk analytics, ideally in an international, agile, cross-functional setting.
• Have successfully enabled machine learning models and advanced analytics for risk assessment and decisions.
• Use SQL and Python confidently to carry out complex analytical work.
• Embrace new technology and understand what data and advanced analytics can do.
• Think strategically and have a clear vision, while also being a hands-on operator who delivers results.
• English is mandatory. German or Dutch is a plus.

Conditions

The role reports to the Risk Analytics and Steering Lead, who reports to the global Client Underwriting Lead.
