Description

The company is a transformative IT authority that delivers technology solutions and consulting to clients, helping IT executives gain an edge through integrating, automating and innovating.

The company is headquartered in Irvine, California, employs more than 1,200 people across the United States, and has field offices in Denver, Indianapolis, Grand Rapids, Lexington, Los Angeles, Louisville, Texas and San Francisco.

This is a senior, client-facing pre-sales role for a strategist who helps organizations plan and carry out their modern data journey. You will align with the company's Central Region and work closely with the corporate Data & Analytics practice to shape client outcomes, grow pipeline and support go-to-market success.

You will combine hands-on data and AI architecture skills with business judgment, advising executives on strategy, designing scalable architectures and linking technology choices to business value. The role moves between whiteboarding platform designs, presenting modernization roadmaps to executives and helping regional sales teams win and advance deals.

The candidate must live in or near Denver, Colorado.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted data and AI advisor to enterprise clients on strategy, modernization and platform transformation through outcome-based consulting.
  • Run discovery and assessment sessions to gather business requirements, set success criteria and turn needs into architecture recommendations.
  • Assess enterprise data warehouse, lakehouse and analytics architectures for feasibility, scalability, risk and fit with organizational goals.
  • Assess enterprise AI strategies, including harness and guardrails architecture, for feasibility, scalability, risk and fit with organizational goals.
  • Design and recommend modern data architectures across cloud and hybrid environments, including AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake, Databricks, Synapse and BigQuery.
  • Write executive-ready presentations, proposals, Statements of Work (SOWs) and technical documentation that show the company's value and differentiation.
  • Prepare level-of-effort estimates and solution pricing inputs, and hand off presales work cleanly to delivery teams.
  • Work with Cloud, Infrastructure and Security teams to design converged solutions across the company's wider technology portfolio.
  • Work with the Data & Analytics and AI practice to refine go-to-market strategy, offerings and practice positioning for the Central region.
  • Create and grow pipeline through proactive client outreach, opportunity qualification and support for strategic pursuits.
  • Build and maintain client relationships that can serve as references, with lasting trust and measurable results.
  • Lead workshops, demos, proofs-of-value (POVs), rapid assessments and thought leadership sessions for clients.
  • Mentor and enable regional architects, advisors and account teams to build technical skill and sales effectiveness.
  • Build the company's market presence through public speaking, events and content that reinforces its thought leadership.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years in data architecture, data engineering or analytics platform design, including at least 3 to 5 years in pre-sales, client advisory or consulting roles.
  • Deep skills in data architecture and engineering: data modeling, ETL/ELT ingestion pipelines, integration frameworks and performance tuning.
  • Proven record of evaluating, modernizing and designing enterprise data platforms across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Hands-on experience with modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Synapse, BigQuery or similar.
  • Solid working knowledge of data governance, observability, analytics enablement and adjacent Cloud, Infrastructure and Security domains.
  • Track record of building pipeline and supporting sales cycles from qualification and solution design through proposal, presentation and close.
  • Strong executive communication, storytelling and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience producing architecture diagrams, proposals and Statements of Work.
  • Strong business sense, with the ability to tie data investments to concrete outcomes and ROI.
  • Familiarity with AI and ML applications and how they fit into modern data ecosystems is preferred.
  • Prior client-facing work for a consulting or technology organization.
  • Ability to work independently, juggle multiple priorities and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS, Azure or GCP Architect, Snowflake SnowPro, Databricks Certified Data Engineer or TOGAF are highly desired.
