Description

The company builds defense systems that give operators an edge through advanced sensing and detection. Its products run on Coherent Distributed Networks (CDN) and serve warfighters, commercial air operators, and border protection teams. Its designers and builders include U.S. military veterans and Silicon Valley engineers.

Founded in 2022, the company has raised $1B in total funding from investors including 8VC, Accel, and NEA. Headquarters are in Los Angeles, with offices in Washington, D.C., San Francisco, and London. The team has 200 employees across 5 global offices.

This mid-career role supports R&D and product engineering, starting with next-generation radar products. The work is highly collaborative and spans several capabilities in the product line, with room to build skills across product families.

Responsibilities

  • Build R&D and production software for next-generation radar products.
  • Help integrate software onto hardware, mostly commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) units.
  • Keep software already deployed with U.S. and international customers running well.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional object-oriented software development.
  • Advanced Python skills.
  • Hands-on work with Agile practices such as Scrum, continuous integration, and test-driven development.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and to contribute on small teams.
  • Solid grounding in Linux, with extensive development experience on it.
  • U.S. Person status, because the role needs access to U.S.-only data systems.
  • Preferred: development work on ground or airborne sensors such as radar, EO/IR, or EW systems.
  • Preferred: designing and implementing radar modes and algorithms, signal processing, target detection, and tracking.
  • Preferred: a current or previous DoD security clearance.
  • Preferred: networking experience, in software and hardware.
  • Preferred: CUDA experience.
  • Preferred: software-defined radio experience, such as Ettus devices.
  • Preferred: advanced time synchronization technologies beyond NTP.
  • Preferred: near-real-time embedded software development.
  • Preferred: git experience.
  • Preferred: containers such as Docker or Podman.
  • Preferred: familiarity with cloud computing and virtualization, such as WSL, KVM, Hyper-V, or VMware.
  • Preferred: BIOS, Secure Boot, TPM, Network Boot, and PXE experience.
  • Preferred: hardware and software drive encryption, such as LUKS or OPAL.
  • Preferred: 2D and 3D visualization, ideally for defense use, such as SIMDIS.
  • Preferred: DoD and related system or software architectures and messaging standards, such as OMS, SOSA, or Link-16.
  • Preferred: modeling and simulation, including hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop testbeds, such as DIS, VR-Forces, or AFSIM.
  • Preferred: production software delivery with DevOps, DevSecOps, or CI/CD using modern FOSS and COTS toolsets.
  • Preferred: full lifecycle software development of high-TRL systems.
  • Preferred: HW/SW integration and test and V&V of high-TRL systems.
  • Preferred: other languages such as C++, Rust, NodeJS, Java, or Go.
