R&D Senior Engineer Switchgear Monitoring & Automation 80 - 100% (f/m/d)

Description

Join the technology center of a company that is developing a next-generation monitoring platform for high-voltage switchgear.

The role is a technical lead position on a multidisciplinary product development project, working with global R&D teams and external engineering partners.

You will work with colleagues in Switzerland, Sweden and Asia, plus outside development teams, on embedded monitoring products for the power industry.

The platform is strategic, with global visibility and long-term reach.

Possible next steps include Project Management or Product Management.

Responsibilities

• Set the system requirements for new monitoring products.
• Design product architectures for embedded platforms.
• Assess technologies and recommend which technical solutions to use.
• Direct technical work across hardware, firmware and software teams.
• Work with external development partners and internal experts.
• Run system integration, validation and testing.
• Help meet cybersecurity and data protection requirements.
• Serve as the technical counterpart to the Project Manager.

Requirements

• A degree in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Engineering or a related field.
• Several years of experience developing embedded products.
• Experience with requirements engineering and system architecture.
• Working knowledge of electronics, firmware, software, integration and testing.
• Experience in international R&D settings.
• Strong communication skills and fluent English.

Conditions

Location: Zurich, Zurich, Switzerland. This is not a remote role.

Full-time position with a workload of 80-100%.
