Engineer Mission Assurance Level 2/3

Description

The role sits within the company's mission assurance function, covering quality, supplier oversight and risk on program hardware.

You will work with suppliers, engineering and program teams to keep product quality on track.

Responsibilities

• Produce quality reports, including First Pass Yield, First Article Inspection and Cost of Quality, along with other quality reports.
• Examine data to find process improvements.
• Write inspection plans that follow contract requirements.
• Check data and statistical analysis against required standards and specifications.
• Lead root cause corrective actions.
• Build strong working relationships with suppliers and audit them periodically to confirm they follow plan.
• Confirm and coordinate product readiness for use or delivery, including qualifying new suppliers.
• Support failure analysis processes for program hardware.
• Carry out independent risk assessments on mission assurance issues and report issues and findings.

Requirements

• Level 2: a bachelor's degree with 2 years of relevant manufacturing or quality experience, or a master's degree with 0 years of experience.
• Level 3: a bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant manufacturing or quality experience, or a master's degree with 3 years of experience.
• US citizen who can obtain a DOD Secret security clearance.
• Preferred: STEM degree from an accredited college or university.
• Preferred: Lean Six Sigma training.
• Preferred: proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Preferred: ability to use custom manufacturing software such as Solumina to keep quality records and traceability.
• Preferred: ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Preferred: experience with risk assessment, 8D and root cause analysis.

Conditions

On-site at the Rocket Center, WV location, with no remote work option.

Travel is about 10% of the time.

No relocation assistance is available.

Secret is the clearance type for this role, and clearance is not required to start.

Primary Level salary range: $79,300.00 to $118,900.00. Secondary Level salary range: $98,400.00 to $147,600.00. These ranges are a general guideline.

Base pay depends on the scope and responsibilities of the role, plus experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
