Quality Assurance Manager

Description

The company's corporate team is a central hub for its Australian operations, bringing together shared services such as finance, legal, HR and procurement so every team in Australia can get the business support it needs.

This is a 2-year fixed-term role supporting the Air Mobility Solutions (AMS) business, which builds advanced air traffic management and airspace mobility technology that helps aircraft move safely and efficiently.

The role is based at the Melbourne office in the World Trade Centre, on Wurundjeri land, and works across programs, projects and operations with business leaders, project teams and customers.

The company works across manufacturing, engineering, cybersecurity and space, and the corporate team works across the business to open career paths for employees.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality assurance across complex bids, projects and operational work.
• Give senior leaders, project teams and customers reliable quality advice.
• Check compliance with ISO 9001 and with regulatory and contract requirements.
• Track quality performance, risks and trends, and escalate issues when needed.
• Support customer audits, certification work and product release processes.
• Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions and continuous improvement projects.
• Encourage Right First Time behaviour and work to reduce Cost of Non-Quality.
• Coach and develop quality capability across AMS.

Requirements

• You must have strong knowledge of systems engineering and project lifecycles.
• You need a relevant tertiary qualification, plus Lean Six Sigma certification and experience in regulatory, certification or safety assurance.
• Ideally, you have experience in Defence, aviation, air traffic management or another highly regulated industry.
• You have a track record in quality, engineering or assurance, including time in a QA leadership role.
• You can influence stakeholders, drive improvement and manage quality risk.
• You communicate well and bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Conditions

The role is a 2-year fixed-term contract.

The role is hybrid.

A Baseline Defence security clearance is required. You must be an Australian citizen and able to obtain and keep an appropriate clearance. Some people holding a current foreign government clearance may have it recognised.

Your nationality may affect your suitability under the Australian Defence Trade Controls Act (DTCA).

Before any offer, you must pass pre-employment police checks and, where the role requires it, medical checks.
