Python Software Engineer - Infrastructure & Platform

Its strategic focus covers hyperscalers, AI labs, the AI hardware supply chain, data platform providers and the wider AI ecosystem.

The Site Reliability Engineering team builds and runs the core software, automation and platform services that engineering across the company relies on. Reliability is treated as a software problem, so the work centres on developer tools, Python automation, observable systems and a platform that grows without manual effort.

The platform runs on Kubernetes in the company's own data centres and in public cloud. Most of the tooling is written in Python and Go.

Responsibilities

• Write the software and tooling that keeps platform services reliable, scalable and easy for developers to use.
• Work with product engineering and platform developers at sites around the world to automate infrastructure management and build self-healing systems.
• Build and maintain Python automation, command-line tools for developers, self-healing mechanisms and custom services for deployment, monitoring and day-to-day platform operations.
• Help run one consistent pipeline for metrics, logs and alerts across data centres and public cloud. Shorten detection time and improve alert quality so people are paged only when they must act, with the context to act quickly.
• Join the on-call rotation for the services you own, lead response and coordination during incidents, and run blameless postmortems. Turn lessons into lasting fixes, runbooks and automation, and help keep on-call manageable for the team.
• Run the messaging, caching, database and continuous-integration services the platform depends on. Improve high availability through redundancy, capacity planning, upgrades and recovery procedures that are tested.
• Automate repetitive work, including deployment, configuration, health checks and self-healing. Contribute to applying AI to incident triage and remediation.
• Join design and production-readiness reviews, capacity planning and launch support for new services. Help product teams adopt reliability practices so fewer problems reach production.

Requirements

• Solid Python skills, including building developer tools, backend services or infrastructure automation.
• Hands-on experience running distributed systems on Linux and Kubernetes with infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong troubleshooting across the stack, including networking, HTTP, containers and storage.
• Clear written and spoken English, with a focus on documentation and working across teams.
