Python Engineer and Developer - Assistant Vice President

Description

The company is hiring an Assistant Vice President Python Developer for its Core Operations Technology team, which is growing.

You will work alongside senior developers and cross-functional teams to design, build, test and maintain software. The role suits someone with foundational Python experience who wants to build scalable, high-performance applications.

Responsibilities

• Build, test and maintain Python applications and scripts.
• Write code that is clean, efficient and well documented, in line with best practices.
• Find and fix bugs in existing code.
• Take part in code reviews, design discussions and agile development work with the team.
• Help build REST APIs, web services and data processing pipelines.
• Help write unit tests and automated test cases to check quality and performance.
• Help integrate third-party libraries and APIs.
• Manage code in Git and follow CI/CD practices.
• Work on AWS Lambda functions for serverless tasks.
• Store and retrieve files in AWS S3 buckets.
• Keep up with new technologies and suggest improvements.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 5-7 years of Python development experience, including web scraping tools (Playwright, Selenium), REST APIs, JSON and Git.
• Working knowledge of SQL and databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL, plus Linux or Unix and web frameworks such as Flask or Django.
• Experience with AWS services, including Lambda, S3 and serverless application development. Experience with Azure or GCP is a plus.
• Exposure to testing frameworks such as pytest and unittest, Docker, front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and Agile methods.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Conditions

The base salary range is $110,000 to $135,000.

You will work in the office Monday through Thursday and may work remotely on Fridays.
