Python Developer - AVP

Description

This is an intermediate-level role for a senior Python developer on the Mortgage Technology team. You will help establish and build new or revised application systems using Python, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift and AI technologies.

The role contributes to systems analysis and software programming, including AI integration, and works with the business to build technology that supports decision making.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable Python applications that support the mortgage trading business, quantitative analytics, workflows and reporting.
• Work with the business, risk, product and other technology groups to connect platforms, find improvements and launch new products and processes.
• Apply AI and GenAI tools to modernize workflows, automate analysis and surface new insights in mortgage technology.
• Solve complex, high-impact problems by studying business processes, system flows and industry standards.
• Oversee each stage of development, from analysis and design through construction, testing and rollout, and support business users on the applications.
• Follow engineering standards for coding, testing, CI/CD, debugging and production readiness.
• Advise and coach new or junior analysts.
• Act as the subject matter expert for senior stakeholders and team members.
• Work with limited direct supervision, using your own judgment and taking ownership of your work.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

• 4-6 years of relevant experience.
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related STEM field, or equivalent experience.
• Deep knowledge of Python and container orchestration platforms.
• Experience with systems analysis and programming of software applications.
• A track record of managing and delivering projects successfully.
• Working knowledge of consulting and project management methods.
• Ability to perform under pressure and handle tight deadlines or sudden changes in expectations or requirements.

Conditions

Full-time position based in New York, New York, United States, with a base salary of $121,200.00 to $181,800.00.
