Java Developer, Software Engineering, Associate– Regulatory Reporting

The team builds and supports enterprise-scale technology for accurate, timely and compliant regulatory reporting.

It works with product, compliance, operations, architecture and engineering to build scalable solutions for changing regulatory requirements.

The work pairs modern software engineering with the controls, reliability, security and auditability that reporting platforms need.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy and support Java applications for regulatory reporting, turning business and regulatory requirements into maintainable, scalable solutions.
• Build microservices, APIs and data-processing components that aggregate, transform, reconcile and validate high-volume financial and operational data.
• Work with product, compliance, operations, architecture and engineering colleagues to meet expectations for performance, reliability, security, auditability and compliance.
• Lead technical work through code reviews, engineering best practices and mentoring of junior engineers.
• Investigate production incidents, find root causes and build preventive fixes that make the platform more reliable.
• Help shape architecture, technical strategy and platform modernization, and keep technical documentation current and support audit and compliance work.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to raise productivity, applying your own judgment, testing, security checks and governance to production code.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or a related field, plus 7+ years of software development experience, including 5+ years of hands-on Java work.
• Strong Java skills, including Java 11/17+, object-oriented design, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Hibernate and JPA.
• Experience designing scalable microservices, RESTful APIs and distributed services for enterprise applications.
• Strong SQL and experience with relational databases and data-intensive, high-volume processing.
• Experience with version control, CI/CD, modern DevOps, cloud platforms, OCI container images and runtimes, and container orchestration platforms that support declarative infrastructure and horizontal scaling.
• Preferred: experience with regulatory reporting, compliance, risk, finance or similar data platforms, including data governance, controls, reconciliation and audit considerations.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools responsibly, plus strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication and collaboration skills in Agile teams.
• Beneficial: experience with distributed event streaming and messaging platforms.

Conditions

Based at NY7, 50 Hudson Yards, New York. Applies to New York only.

Salary range: USD $132,500.00 to USD $162,000.00.

Hybrid model: at least 4 days a week in the office, with up to 1 day working from home. Some business groups may require more office time based on their roles.

Total compensation may vary by role, location, firm, department and individual performance.
