Program Manager - Technology Development Center

Description

You will manage the engineering and program work tied to the manufacturing process.

Your decisions will shape approaches, projects, programs and ways of working in your function or the business unit you support, and will affect the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of your own team.

You will have a significant voice in setting priorities. Professional practices and policies shape the role, which gives you moderate autonomy but calls for strong operational judgment.

Responsibilities

• Own a customer program, including its communication, meetings and schedules for internal and external customers.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams on the shop floor to meet customer schedule, cost and yield targets.
• Build deep expertise in your discipline and serve as a best-practice and quality reference.
• Track the latest technical developments in your area and help shape strategy and policy while making sure your area delivers.
• Know best practices well, understand how your area connects with others, and keep a working view of competitors and what sets them apart.
• Make judgment calls on moderately complex problems in operations, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Question existing solutions, analyze data using your technical background, and draw on several internal sources and a few external ones.
• Guide less experienced colleagues. Lead small projects with moderate risk and resource needs. Explain hard or sensitive information, build consensus, and develop your ability to persuade others on topics in your field.

Requirements

• Either a bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma or GED together with 4 years of customer program experience.
• In either case, you need a minimum of 5 years of experience running customer programs, including their communication, meetings and schedules with internal and external customers.
• Desired: current or prior security clearance.
• Desired: strong written and spoken communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Desired: proven ability to analyze and resolve problems and to lead programs and projects.
• Desired: skill in documenting, planning, promoting and executing programs, plus established project management skills.
• Desired: a master's degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma or GED with at least 6 years of customer program experience.

• Desired: focused, a quick learner, strategic in setting priorities, and committed.

Conditions

Coordinating work takes place in a shop environment.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information, so you must prove U.S. person status as a U.S. lawful permanent resident, a U.S. citizen, or someone granted asylee or refugee status (a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
