Description

The company makes products that help people understand their readiness, activity, and sleep through a ring and a connected app. Millions of people already use them for daily insights and practical steps toward healthier habits. The company is growing fast and wants its team to have what it needs to do good work at the office and elsewhere.

As Program Manager, Data Transformation, you will run the daily program that turns the company's business data into trusted, governed metrics that leaders can act on. You will work within the Data Transformation program with the Staff Program Manager and own delivery for your assigned data domains, covering intake, prioritization, tracking, ownership, certification, and reporting. Hardware and Supply Chain is the first focus, since it needs the most structure right now.

Metric certification and intake discipline sit at the center of the role. You will apply a three-path model to every request and metric: Directional for fit-for-use work that moves quickly, Governed for executive, board, investor, or external numbers that need a certification path, and Not ours for operational or application work that goes back to the owning business team. You will also run the delivery work, using sprints where they help, so certification and delivery dates are met.

Hardware and supply chain data spans manufacturing, quality, logistics, sourcing, planning, and new product introduction. You will connect these teams with Data Engineering and Analytics so that metrics used by executives, finance, and auditors, such as warranty rate, click-to-delivery, and yield, each have a single definition, a single owner, and a clear route from directional to governed to certified.

The ideal candidate is comfortable with ambiguity, can read a data pipeline diagram as easily as a project plan, and enjoys adding structure to fast-moving work that spans many teams.

Responsibilities

  • Move business metrics from informal tracking to full certification, each with a locked definition, one accountable owner, and documented lineage and controls
  • Confirm that every key metric in your domains has a named owner and approver, and update those assignments as the business changes
  • Sort incoming data requests by intended use and required rigor, and send work that belongs elsewhere to the correct team
  • Run a structured intake process with clear priorities, business justification, and dependable response times
  • Lead cross-functional programs to completion across Data Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, Hardware, and IT, using agile methods where they fit
  • Maintain program plans that are accurate and visible, with named leads, dates, and status stakeholders can rely on
  • Follow data issues and metric regressions until they are resolved, and help prepare documentation for internal and external audits
  • Report progress and data health clearly to senior leaders, and push adoption of standard metric definitions

Requirements

  • 5 to 8 years in program management, technical program management, or business operations, including time supporting data, analytics, or operations teams
  • Experience leading cross-functional programs with many stakeholders and competing priorities, without direct authority over them
  • Experience with metric governance or controls, including definitions, ownership, documentation, and formal sign-off
  • Able to work in Databricks or a similar lakehouse: browse the catalog, read SQL or models to see how a metric is calculated, and check numbers against source tables
  • Working knowledge of data pipelines and transformation layers such as dbt: can trace lineage from source system to reported figure and identify where a metric is computed
  • Experience with data quality controls, including writing validation tests, reading results, and finding root causes of failures
  • Able to hold a process line with senior stakeholders, including turning down requests, while keeping relationships strong
  • Hands-on use of work tracking tools such as Jira, and experience running sprints or light agile routines
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including status reporting for senior audiences
  • Experience with hardware, manufacturing, quality, logistics, sourcing, or supply planning
  • Background in consumer hardware, wearables, medical devices, or another regulated hardware business
  • Exposure to financial reporting, SOX-style controls, audit preparation, or IPO readiness
  • Experience at a high-growth or pre-IPO company
  • Experience working with distributed teams across US and European time zones
  • Comfortable using modern AI tools to speed up analysis, documentation, and reporting
