Description

The company's space sector is hiring a Level 2 Program Manager for the Space Superiority Division, where the role leads the program office for one product line.

The work centres on a restricted customer. The role is the main point of contact for program delivery and also leads key technology demonstration efforts.

You need a broad grasp of U.S. Government aerospace systems or missions, plus experience leading project teams.

Expertise in at least one area is preferred: spacecraft design, spacecraft or component integration and test (I&T), payload design and I&T, launch vehicle integration, space mission operations, or space ground systems.

You will work in both classified and unclassified environments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the product line's program day to day as its program manager for a restricted customer.
  • Lead key technology demonstration efforts.
  • Lead diverse teams and coordinate cross-functional groups such as engineering, operations, business management and supply chain.
  • Communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, business or a related field, plus 8 years supporting U.S. Government contracts and customers; or a master's degree plus 6 years of that support.
  • Hold an active or current Top-Secret/SCI clearance at the time you apply.
  • Have 5+ years of engineering, project management or program management experience on complex aerospace or space systems.
  • Have managed technical projects or investment portfolios, including planning, budgeting and tracking against cost, schedule and technical objectives.
  • Understand spacecraft and space system architectures, payloads and subsystem-level trade studies, or similar complex technical domains.
  • Work in a matrixed organization, build relationships and influence without direct authority.
  • Have led cross-functional teams to deliver project or program objectives.
  • Use performance management tools and methods, such as schedules, metrics dashboards or EVMS concepts, or equivalent, to monitor project health.
  • Communicate clearly in writing and speech, including presenting status, risks and recommendations to leadership and technical teams.
  • Preferred: challenge existing processes and documentation constructively, and build consensus toward more efficient, modern ways of working.
  • Preferred: have identified and implemented process improvements or affordability initiatives, such as cycle time reductions, waste elimination, or standardized templates and workflows.
  • Preferred: have experience with agile or incremental development, such as iterative design reviews, backlog management, sprints or Kanban, in a hardware or mixed hardware and software environment.

Conditions

Top-Secret/SCI clearance is required for start.

Relocation assistance may be available.

Base salary range is $139,100.00 to $208,700.00. This is a general guideline; final offers depend on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

The application period is estimated at 20 days from the posting date, but it may be shortened or extended based on business needs and candidate availability.
