Responsibilities

• Keep US regional applications running by monitoring them continuously and resolving incidents quickly.
• Watch application and infrastructure performance to reduce downtime and help meet SLAs.
• Find the cause of production problems by reading server and application logs.
• Use Splunk and other monitoring tools to spot problems early and speed up incident fixes.
• Write and run SQL queries to investigate data and troubleshoot issues.
• Help with application deployments through Jenkins, and use GitHub for code reviews and debugging.
• Take part in ITIL processes: incident, problem, and RFC/change management.
• Set up monitoring alerts and dashboards, and help improve alert quality.
• Help set up tools and the infrastructure they need.

Requirements

• 3 to 8 years of experience in production support or application support.
• Advanced knowledge of Oracle Database.
• Strong SQL, including DDL and DML, joins, aggregate functions and CASE statements.
• Experience with Linux-based infrastructure and cloud services.
• Strong skills in monitoring, troubleshooting and debugging server logs.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk and/or Dynatrace.
• Experience building alerts and dashboards and tuning monitoring alerts.
• Experience with ITIL incident, problem and RFC processes.
• Experience using GitHub for debugging code and Jenkins for deployments.
• Nice to have: experience supporting business-critical production applications.
• Nice to have: familiarity with CI/CD processes and deployment pipelines.
• Nice to have: experience with proactive application monitoring and incident prevention.
