Description

This is a Product Support Engineer role, Bids and Growth, at the UK subsidiary of a larger US group. The company has over 1,400 staff in the UK and runs several major UK defence contracts, covering early warning aircraft, maritime patrol aircraft, autonomous systems, C4ISR services, helicopter support, logistics information services and training services.

The company is growing and new staff can help shape future business.

The role sits in the product support group within a matrix engineering function. That group covers reliability centred maintenance analysis, reliability and maintainability, logistic support analysis, engineering data exploitation, obsolescence management and technical publications.

The focus is on fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft platforms, and on preparing bids and proposals.

  • Brief internal and external audiences on engineering activity and report progress within the team.
  • Exchange data and information with engineering, reliability, publications, supply chain and support colleagues across UK and US teams.
  • Keep data governance, assurance, integrity and quality strong.
  • Find and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support audits and reviews that check product and data compliance.
  • Assist the Lead Technical Support Engineer and the BDUK Support Engineering Manager as needed.
  • You may work on other programmes, business development opportunities and engineering excellence initiatives, and on company activities such as quality, safety culture, diversity and inclusion, mentoring, STEM outreach and special projects.

Requirements

  • Required: a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing technology), computer science, data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry, or a non-US equivalent directly related to the work.
  • Required: strong experience of, or understanding of, bid and proposal work.
