This is an AI product manager role for someone who enjoys the day-to-day work of shipping AI, turning stakeholder needs into clear requirements, clearing blockers so teams keep moving, and watching outcomes closely to see whether the work helps users and the business.
The role owns the AI product roadmap and takes AI capabilities from concept through to successful delivery, working with AI engineers, business stakeholders, and design.
Responsibilities
Keep the AI roadmap current, well sequenced, and visible to stakeholders, reflecting business priorities, engineering capacity, and what is really being built.
Work with business and technology leaders to find AI opportunities, judge their value, and add the strongest ones to the roadmap through a structured prioritization process.
Lead trade-off discussions between stakeholders and engineers so the group reaches decisions that weigh impact, feasibility, and timing.
Share roadmap changes, sequencing choices, and delivery status on a regular schedule so stakeholders hear about shifts before they happen.
Raise risks and dependencies early so teams can adjust before they turn into blockers.
Turn business needs and user requirements into detailed specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria that engineering and design can work from.
Work alongside AI engineers through delivery, answering questions, clarifying scope, reviewing work in progress, and making quick, well-informed calls when scope changes.
Take part in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to keep cross-functional teams aligned.
Own launches from start to finish: rollout plans, stakeholder updates, go-live readiness, and post-launch monitoring.
Check after launch that the product works as intended and escalate problems quickly for fixes.
Build working relationships with business, operations, merchant, and marketing teams to learn their workflows and pain points and to spot where AI can truly help.
Work with engineering and data teams to track AI feature performance on technical measures as well as user and business outcomes.
Gather and synthesize user feedback, usage data, and stakeholder input into a continuous improvement backlog.
Speak up for end users throughout development so AI capabilities are intuitive, trustworthy, and suited to the people using them.
Give senior leadership regular, data-backed progress updates and impact summaries.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent years of experience, which is preferred.
5+ years of product management experience, including 2+ years on AI, machine learning, or data-driven products running in production for real users.
A proven record of running a product roadmap and delivering features end to end with measurable business results.
Skill at hearing what stakeholders and users need and turning it into clear, actionable requirements.
Working knowledge of AI and ML concepts, enough to hold substantive discussions with engineers and make sound trade-off decisions.
Experience tracking and reporting on AI product performance using both technical and business success metrics.
Strong written and verbal communication, adjusted for engineering, design, business, and executive audiences.
Comfort with ambiguity, a habit of acting quickly, and strong organization and follow-through.
Preferred: experience shipping LLM-powered products, conversational AI, recommendation systems, or agentic workflows to production users.
Preferred: familiarity with AI evaluation methods, responsible AI principles, and the particular challenges of rolling out AI features to users at scale.
Preferred: experience with enterprise AI or SaaS platforms such as Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI, or similar.
Preferred: comfort with data tools such as SQL, BI dashboards, or A/B testing frameworks to assess product performance on your own.
Preferred: experience in retail, e-commerce, direct-to-consumer, or a similar consumer business.
Preferred: a track record of staying current on emerging AI technologies and bringing new capabilities to market.
