Description

The team builds cloud-native, independently deployable data services that help large investment firms master, govern and distribute their data at scale.

This is an Assistant Vice President product manager role for the Enterprise Data Management platform services, reporting to the EDM product lead. You need 5+ years in data management or financial software and are ready to own major capability areas: entity and identifier resolution, reference data management, extensible data models and release management.

You will work with engineering, architecture and client teams to turn business needs into prioritized, well-defined features that create measurable value for clients.

The company is moving its data management services toward a more modular, scalable and easier-to-deploy model, which reaches more clients and simplifies adoption and operation of the Alpha Data Platform, a SaaS platform for front-to-back investment workflows at global financial institutions. Your work will help grow the data platform business and speed up safer releases.

Responsibilities

  • Own one or more EDM platform service capabilities, such as entity and identifier resolution or reference data management, from requirements through delivery.
  • Shape the roadmap for your capability areas with the product lead and communicate it to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Write epics, user stories and acceptance criteria, and keep features tied to business objectives.
  • Define configurable matching and resolution rules, data mappings and reference data standards for securities, issuers, accounts and related domains.
  • Help shape data model extensibility and release readiness requirements so clients can adopt new capabilities with minimal disruption.
  • Run client calls and workshops to gather insight and validate requirements that guide product decisions.
  • Set priorities, and manage trade-offs, dependencies and risks across engineering, architecture and client delivery teams.
  • Lead design reviews and working sessions, and guide the user acceptance testing approach for your areas.
  • Track delivery progress and report status, risks and outcomes to product leadership.
  • Coach business analysts and junior product team members on requirements quality and domain knowledge.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of combined product management or business analysis experience for software products, ideally in financial services or enterprise SaaS.
  • Experience in enterprise data management, including security master, entity resolution, identifier cross-referencing or reference data.
  • Strong grasp of financial markets and the investment lifecycle, including securities, issuers, pricing, portfolios and transactions.
  • Proven record of writing high-quality requirements and leading requirements gathering with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Working understanding of cloud-native, API-driven and multi-tenant architectures.
  • Plus: SQL and data analysis skills.
  • Plus: familiarity with market data providers such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv, ICE or MSCI.
  • Experience with Agile delivery and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Clear communication and the credibility to engage senior stakeholders and clients.
  • Ability to work in a global, distributed organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance or a related field. Progress toward CFA or CAIA is desirable.
  • Plus: experience with investment management platforms such as Charles River IMS.
  • Ability to travel as required for client engagements, about 20%, including internationally.
