Description

The company is building the next generation of its Enterprise Data Management platform services, a set of cloud-native services that can be deployed independently and help large investment firms master, govern and distribute their data.

This is a Vice President product manager role leading strategy and delivery. It requires 10+ years in data management products and enterprise SaaS platforms, and it is a hands-on, technical leadership position.

The services are becoming more modular, scalable and easier to deploy, which should reach more clients and simplify adoption. The Alpha Data Platform is a SaaS product used for front-to-back investment workflows at global financial institutions.

About the company: it is one of the largest custodian banks, asset managers and asset intelligence companies in the world, serving institutional clients with investment servicing, data and analytics, research and trading, and investment management.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product strategy, roadmap and business case for a set of core EDM platform services.
  • Define the product for a shared, multi-tenant entity resolution service that handles API, batch and event-driven processing for securities, issuers, accounts and other reference data.
  • Write requirements for configurable, client-specific matching rules that fit within enterprise-wide standards.
  • Lead the reference data management strategy, for example for countries, exchanges and currencies, from scoping through delivery.
  • Push a metadata-driven approach so clients can tailor data models without disrupting platform releases.
  • Make sure platform services can be upgraded or rolled back independently with minimal impact on clients.
  • Write product requirements and lead structured design reviews with architecture and engineering.
  • Align engineering, architecture, operations, client delivery and go-to-market teams, managing dependencies and trade-offs.
  • Define and track success metrics, and report progress, risks and outcomes to senior leadership.
  • Work with clients, prospects and sales to validate requirements, support market data integrations and present the data platform offerings.
  • Mentor product managers and business analysts, and build a strong culture of technical quality and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of product management in enterprise data management, reference data or SaaS data platforms, including owning prioritization, trade-offs, timelines and go-to-market execution.
  • Deep knowledge of investment data domains (securities, issuers, pricing, portfolios, transactions, corporate actions) and the front-to-back investment lifecycle.
  • Hands-on experience with security master, entity resolution, identifier cross-referencing and data lineage.
  • Strong technical grounding in cloud-native and microservices architectures, multi-tenant design, metadata-driven data models, and CI/CD and release practices.
  • Familiarity with major market data providers such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv, ICE, MSCI and FactSet.
  • A record of leading complex, multi-workstream programs through ambiguity to deliver scalable platform capabilities.
  • Executive presence, with the ability to turn technical architecture into clear business value for senior stakeholders and clients.
  • Experience with Agile delivery and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Nice to have: a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance or a related field is required; an MBA, an advanced degree, or progress toward CFA or CAIA is preferred.
  • Nice to have: experience with investment management platforms such as Charles River IMS.
  • Ability to travel as needed for client engagements, including internationally.
