Description

The company makes tools that help enterprises, developers, and individuals store and share sensitive data safely. Its password manager, secrets management, and passwordless and passkey products are open source and openly developed.

Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Santa Barbara, California, the company is backed by a global community of security experts and enthusiasts.

This role sits on the platform team and covers deployment flexibility: shared capabilities that keep the product consistent and secure whether a customer runs it on the cloud, a regional or government cloud, or their own servers. You decide how each app connects to its environment and configuration, and which behaviors may vary by setup, such as FedRAMP and FIPS requirements, IT-managed device settings, and self-hosting limits.

You work with Engineering, Architecture, BRE, SRE, Security, and Design to turn initiatives into clear outcomes that product teams and customers can use. You also work with Sales, Solutions Engineering, and Implementation Engineering on how deployment flexibility helps win public sector, regulated, and large enterprise deals and meets their compliance needs. Roadmap decisions draw on customer feedback, deployment and upgrade data, and competitor benchmarks, with attention to both self-hosted operators and cloud customers.

The team is fully remote, with team members across the world. The hiring process starts with an introduction call and may continue with an interview with the Director of Product Management, an interview with the Chief Product Officer, an interview with the Chief Technology Officer, and reference calls.

Responsibilities

  • Own the roadmap for shared capabilities that let the product run across cloud, government cloud, and self-hosted setups, including how each app connects to and is configured for its context
  • Decide what stays constant across setups and what may differ, then write those decisions down so product teams can build to them
  • Research, design, and propose professional services that help customers with special deployment needs on any setup
  • Lead cross-team initiatives such as the FedRAMP-compliant cloud and the move to a service-oriented architecture, keeping scope, sequence, and dependencies clear for Engineering, SRE, and product teams
  • Study how competing and adjacent password and identity vendors handle government, regulated, and self-hosted deployments, and sharpen the company's edge against them
  • Model how deployment options relate to public sector wins, enterprise deal speed, expansion ARR, and retention
  • Set and track adoption metrics such as customers by deployment type, upgrade success and lag, and feature gaps between setups
  • Help Sales, Solutions Engineering, and Implementation Engineering map deployment options to customer compliance requirements, including RFP answers and deal conversations
  • Report progress, roadmap changes, and wins to leadership and cross-functional partners
  • Use AI tools to speed up spec writing, competitive analysis, data modeling, and rapid prototyping

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of product management experience
  • Experience with platform features of B2B SaaS products
  • Experience working with US federal government customers
  • Solid technical grounding in authentication architectures and the software deployment lifecycle
  • Ability to turn complex security concepts into admin experiences that are easy to use
  • Ability to hold technical discussions with engineering and architecture about tradeoffs
  • Strong organization and sound judgment when setting priorities and making trade-offs with engineering
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • A growth mindset and willingness to learn from others
  • Enthusiasm for open source and for a more secure internet
