Responsibilities

  • Co-lead the recurring cross-functional meetings: PM Staff, PM Staff status, weekly customer meetings, and internal bi-weekly or weekly technical reviews on cost, schedule and performance.

  • Set and track engineering priorities and milestones for planning, design, procurement, training, integration and deployment of network, recording and warning equipment.
  • Partner with the Integration and Test IPTs to make sure the BONEs systems are built and tested to the right requirements.
  • Plan staffing for events and confirm hardware, software baselines and equipment are mission ready.
  • Review plans, procedures, reports, drawings and other documents for completeness, accuracy and quality.
  • Support development, evaluation, verification and validation of system design changes, from minor fixes to large capability changes.
  • Contribute engineering input to requests for proposal (RFPs), bases of estimate (BOEs), technical volumes and statements of work.
  • Carry out Cost Account Manager (CAM) duties covering staffing, budgeting and forecasting.

Requirements

  • Principal Systems Engineer: 5 years of experience with a STEM bachelor's degree, 3 years with a master's, or 1 year with a PhD.
  • Sr. Principal Systems Engineer: 8 years with a STEM bachelor's degree, 6 years with a master's, or 4 years with a PhD.
  • Secret-level DoD clearance that is active.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment with Atlassian tools such as JIRA or Confluence.
  • Your work location is on-site in Huntsville.
  • At least 15% travel, possibly including trips outside the continental United States (OCONUS).
  • Preferred: experience with Sense and Warn & Intercept (SnW&I) and Counter-Unmanned Aerial System (C-UAS) architectures and company products.
  • Preferred: experience with Lucen Timeline (formerly Office Timeline) or MS Project.
  • Preferred: experience building milestone schedules.
  • Preferred: experience in customer-facing roles and leading a multi-discipline team.
  • Preferred: experience with trade studies, system requirements reviews (SRRs), preliminary design reviews (PDRs) and critical design reviews (CDRs).
  • Preferred: experience writing test reports.
