Principal - Solution Engineering

The company is growing its business in the Netherlands and is hiring a Principal Solutions Engineer to be the technical expert for the Dutch team.

You will help win new business and advise the region's most strategic prospects and accounts.

The company builds service software for customer and employee experience, with AI features that remove friction for employees and organisations. Customers include Bridgestone, New Balance, Nucor, S&P Global and Sony Music, and more than 72,000 companies use its CX and EX software. The company has over 4,500 employees worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical side of large new-business deals and work hands-on to help close them.
• Advise senior prospects and customers, including executives, as a trusted technical advisor through every stage of the sales cycle.
• Spot problems that other solution engineers miss by drawing on market research, field experience, competitor analysis and analyst reports.
• Turn your ideas and domain knowledge into reusable assets for the company.
• Pass product gaps, bugs and enhancement needs to product teams, especially issues that block effective solutions.
• Speak for the go-to-market teams to the product organisation.
• Represent the company at industry conferences and events.
• Mentor lead and senior solution engineers on technical strategy and how to solve customer problems.
• Drive technical wins by evangelising the product, enabling customers and engaging them directly.
• Take part in pre-sales work, including technical presentations, proofs of concept, RFP and RFI responses, demonstrations and technical workshops.
• Define the scope of proofs of concept and make sure they succeed.
• Build joint solutions with partners.
• Provide deep technical consultation to prospects and customers in support of sales and channel goals.
• Explain the value proposition and technology solutions to both business and technical audiences.
• Build long-term partnership value with customers and work closely with extended teams.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of relevant experience in technical solution engineering, ideally in ITIL or ITSM or in SaaS or software products.
• Experience in a SaaS or technology product company, with ITSM and ITIL methods and cloud-based infrastructure. This is essential.
• Experience running complex sales cycles in mid-market and enterprise segments.
• Strong communication with senior stakeholders, including CxOs, and with internal colleagues.
• Clear communication and listening skills, strong presentation and demonstration skills, and a real drive to help and serve clients.
• A customer- and solution-focused approach, with an execution focus and a strong sense of urgency.
• Comfortable working in a high-energy team.
• An added advantage: other European languages.
