Description

The company builds systems that affect people's lives, from aircraft and defense programs to space work, and it is looking for experienced software engineers for possible future openings.

Responsibilities

• Work on your own and as part of an Agile team.
• Support or lead software development work so that schedule commitments are met.
• Find new solutions to hard technical problems.
• Take part in planning, designing, building and rolling out software systems.
• Show progress and keep stakeholders informed with clear communication.

Requirements

• Principal Engineer Software (level 3): a high school diploma with at least 9 years of software development experience, or a bachelor's degree in a STEM field with at least 5 years, or a master's degree in a STEM field with at least 3 years, or a PhD in a STEM field with at least 1 year.
• Sr. Principal Engineer Software (level 4): a high school diploma with at least 12 years of software development experience, or a bachelor's degree in a STEM field with at least 8 years, or a master's degree in a STEM field with at least 6 years, or a PhD in a STEM field with at least 4 years.
• Experience with full-stack web development or object-oriented programming.
• Working knowledge of Agile development processes.
• Experience designing and building full-stack web applications using microservices and/or cloud-based architecture.
• Experience integrating and extending internal developer portals such as Spotify's Backstage to improve developer experience and delivery workflows.
• Hands-on experience with front-end frameworks such as Angular, React, or TypeScript.
• Hands-on back-end development in Java, including Spring Boot for building REST APIs and microservices.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well with small technical teams.
• Ability to set priorities and adjust tasks to deliver project results.
• Ability to understand and analyze complex problems and build solutions.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance. U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite.
• Optional: experience with one or more of the following: Angular, React, TypeScript, Java (including Spring Boot), Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Elastic, jQuery, Bootstrap, Jira, GitLab Pipelines.
• Optional: experience with relational, graph, or document databases.
• Optional: use of integrated development environments (IDEs) and configuration management tools such as Git or Bitbucket.
• Optional: experience working with Jira and GitLab.
• Optional: experience in an Agile software development environment.
• Optional: ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks.
• Optional: experience developing full-stack applications with TypeScript and React.
• Optional: experience integrating with Spotify's Backstage or similar internal developer portals.
• Optional: experience in AWS and/or Azure cloud environments.

Conditions

Primary level salary range: $103,600.00 to $155,400.00.

Secondary level salary range: $129,300.00 to $193,900.00.

The ranges are general guidelines. The company considers scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions when setting base pay.

Relocation assistance may be available.

Clearance is not required to start. The clearance type is Top Secret.

No travel required.
