Description

The company is a defense and aerospace employer with about 90,000 employees across all 50 states and more than 27 countries. This role sits in the Baltimore and Partnered Sites division of its engineering and sciences group, on a Foundational Systems Engineering Team that turns concepts into working systems and blends newer and established systems thinking.

The team works on sensors for current and next generation air and sea platforms, including the EA-18 Growler, SEWIP, unmanned programs, and other restricted programs and missions.

This is a 100% on-site role. Travel is required for about 10% of the time, and relocation assistance may be available.

Responsibilities

  • Apply systems engineering processes to build systems that meet customer requirements.
  • Manage requirements through decomposition, allocation, verification, and validation.
  • Help prepare for, run, and resolve major design reviews, such as PDR, CDR, SVR, TRR, physical and functional configuration audits, and similar reviews.
  • Work with product teams across disciplines and domains to confirm compliance.
  • Confirm that the system meets the program Statement of Work and system requirements.

Requirements

  • Principal level: a bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience, a master's degree with 3 years, or a PhD with 1 year, in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or another related technical field. An extra 4 years of experience may be considered in place of a degree.
  • Senior Principal level: a bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience, a master's degree with 6 years, or a PhD with 4 years, in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or another related technical field. An extra 4 years of experience may be considered in place of a degree.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • You hold a current, active U.S. Government Secret clearance.
  • You are able to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
  • You have experience in systems engineering, preferably in aerospace or defense.
  • You have used system engineering design methods, including requirements analysis and flow-down, specification derivation, functional decomposition, and interface control documentation.
  • You have taken part in major system reviews, such as SRR, SFR, PDR, and CDR.
  • You have worked through the full systems engineering process.
  • You are proficient with systems engineering tools such as DOORS, CAMEO, MATLAB, or comparable software.
  • Preferred: an advanced degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics, or another related technical field.
  • Preferred: an active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance or higher, with SAP access and/or SCI eligibility.
  • Preferred: experience developing architecture, CONOPS, and use cases using model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methods.
  • Preferred: experience communicating and presenting complex technical concepts to project, program, and company management, other technical managers, and customers.
  • Preferred: experience supporting an agile development team.

Conditions

The position depends on contract award, successful transfer of your active U.S. Government Secret clearance, and your ability to obtain Special Program Access.

The application period is estimated at 20 days from the posting date, and may be shortened or extended based on business needs and candidate availability.

Depending on the position, you may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary annual bonus. Vice President and Director roles may also be eligible for long-term incentives.

Base pay ranges: Primary level $108,800.00 to $163,200.00; Secondary level $135,800.00 to $203,600.00. Final offers depend on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions.
