Pre-Sales Consultant

Description

The company's sales team is hiring a pre-sales consultant to give technical support to sales and to run tailored demonstrations and qualification talks with customers and prospects.

You will help decide whether opportunities should be pursued or dropped, and help grow existing ones by asking strong questions.

You will also run technical proofs of concept, demonstrations and presentations on the products and solutions the team supports.

Responsibilities

• Help account and product managers qualify opportunities by giving pre-sales technical support.
• Give pre-sales technical support and run in-depth product demonstrations for customers and business partners.
• Train partners on the products and solutions.
• Write and refine technical responses to RFPs and RFIs.
• Deliver customer demonstrations and presentations.
• Plan and manage technical validation events (POCs) and the assets they use.
• Attend conferences, trade shows and exhibitions when it makes sense or when asked.
• Recommend and shape market content.
• Take on other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of the vendor's products and of general networking, including TCP/IP, DNS and UNIX administration, plus hands-on work with switches, routers and firewalls in intranet and internet environments.
• Solid understanding of networking and security.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, and the ability to explain complex technology in simple terms.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems.
• Self-motivated and flexible.
• Ability to juggle many requests, including unplanned and unscheduled ones.
• Able to follow instructions and ask for clarification when needed.
• Sensitive to the needs, concerns and feelings of others.
• Able to work effectively with managers at every level.
