Platform Engineer

Description

The company builds and runs data centers for AI, aiming to deliver 10 to hundreds of GWs of compute faster than others. It acquires power, designs and constructs sites, and operates them, with hardware and software teams working side by side.

The security team protects the model weights trained on the company's infrastructure. These are among the most valuable and most sought-after assets in tech, and the company is building capacity to store them at a pace no one has matched.

The team is creating a security program from zero, covering physical and logical controls from the hardware up to leadership, across several continents as the footprint grows.

Responsibilities

• Write infrastructure as code that deploys a full site security platform, so each new campus is set up by running a pipeline.
• Run CI/CD and the release process for the security stack, so every change is tested, versioned, and can be rolled back.
• Automate fixes the team currently makes by hand, and turn any task performed twice into code.
• Build package and patch pipelines that keep a growing fleet up to date without anyone logging into a host.
• Put automation in place before the platform it supports, so a small team can still handle on-call as campuses are added.

Requirements

• The role is a starting point, and the company will consider candidates who fit it only partly. Explain where you think you would fit.
• You have written infrastructure as code that others deploy from, and more of the systems in place were created by your pipeline than by manual runbook steps.
• You have removed manual work from your own role and can list the tasks your team no longer performs.
• You have owned CI/CD for infrastructure, including detecting and reversing bad changes.
• You have automated Windows fleets, where tooling is more limited than on Linux.
• You have kept an on-call rotation manageable by fixing root causes instead of adding runbooks.
• You write production code and review code written by others.
• You have built tools for non-engineers and they use them without workarounds.
• Bonus: Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell DSC). CI/CD for infrastructure (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI). Windows package and patch automation (Chocolatey, WSUS, Intune). Observability and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana). Physical security or building systems platforms (Genetec Security Center, access control, IoT device fleets).
