OpenRoads Highways Designer

Description

The company is hiring an experienced OpenRoads Highways Designer for its Perth transportation team in Western Australia.

The team plans, designs and delivers major highway, road and transport infrastructure projects.

You need strong hands-on skill in Bentley OpenRoads Designer and a record of work built to MRWA standards.

You will join multidisciplinary teams and work alongside project managers, engineers, drafters and clients to produce high-quality designs.

Responsibilities

• Build road and highway designs in Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD).
• Model road geometry, including alignments, corridors and cross-sections.
• Create design documents, drawings and reports for concept, preliminary and detailed stages.
• Apply MRWA standards, policies and guidelines throughout delivery.
• Align road design with drainage, structures, utilities, traffic and other civil work.
• Run design reviews, design verification and quality assurance checks.
• Help with project planning, scheduling and technical delivery.
• Support tenders, proposals and client presentations when needed.
• Work with clients, stakeholders and approval authorities through each stage of development.
• Coach junior designers and help grow the team's technical skills.

Requirements

• Hold a diploma, advanced diploma or degree in civil engineering, engineering design or a related field.
• Have at least 5 years of road and highway design in a consulting or infrastructure setting.
• Be highly skilled in Bentley OpenRoads Designer.
• Have delivered projects for Main Roads Western Australia (MRWA).
• Know the MRWA Road Planning and Design Manual.
• Know the Austroads Guides.
• Understand Road Safety and Safe System principles.
• Follow design documentation and drafting standards.
• Have prepared geometric road designs for urban and rural roads.
• Communicate clearly and manage stakeholders well.
• Work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Desirable: Have worked on major WA infrastructure projects.
• Desirable: Understand Digital Engineering and BIM workflows.

Conditions

Work is hybrid, from an office, a remote location or a client site.
