Description

The company is a media business that provides trusted local news and services to people in their home communities. It runs 64 television stations in 51 U.S. markets and reaches more than 100 million people each month across websites, mobile apps, streaming, and broadcast television.

The Portland, Maine station is hiring a video editor to cut and produce compelling video under deadline for broadcast, streaming, web, and social media. You need to work on your own initiative and manage a brand well.

Responsibilities

  • Use editing and photography tools to make content for the newscast, streaming, and digital platforms.
  • Collaborate day to day with newscast producers, reporters, photojournalists, and the digital team.

Requirements

  • Stay focused and calm when covering fast-moving breaking news.
  • Know CUEZ.
  • Have working knowledge of non-linear editing systems such as Edius, DaVinci, Premiere, and Photoshop.
  • Be genuinely interested in broadcast and digital news.
  • Stay organized and deliver work under deadline pressure.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively.
  • A BA or BS degree is preferred.
  • Meet tight schedules while keeping quality high.

Conditions

Pay is $21.12 USD.

You must be available to work early mornings, nights, and weekends.

Benefits

  • The company offers broad benefits meant to support employees' physical, mental, and financial wellbeing, along with their families. Full-time and part-time employees can choose between two medical plans through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas. Dental, eye care, fertility, surrogacy, and adoption assistance are included, as are disability and life insurance.
  • Full-time, part-time, and temporary employees can contribute 1% to 80% of their pay to the company's 401(k) before tax. The company matches 100% of the first 4% of pay you contribute, and those matched funds vest immediately.
  • Every employee and eligible family member gets nine free virtual doctor visits through Teladoc and 12 free therapy sessions a year with a licensed clinician through Spring Health, whether or not they enroll in the company's medical plans.
  • You receive generous paid time off and nine paid holidays each year.
  • Some roles fall under a collective bargaining agreement, so parts of these benefits may not apply. For example, some newsroom union employees receive health and retirement benefits through union-run plans.
