Job Title :
Reporting To:
Global Network Operations Manager
Work Schedule:
Hybrid – Buffalo, NY
We’re seeking a Network Operations Engineer to own on-site Network Operations for East Aurora and assigned enterprise workstreams. In this role, you’ll keep network services reliable by resolving operational issues, delivering infrastructure changes, and coordinating deployments and lifecycle work. You’ll also own defined parts of network projects and processes, working with site stakeholders, vendors, and Global Network Operations to deliver effective solutions.
This role is suited to an experienced network professional who can work independently with minimal guidance. You’ll apply deep network knowledge to issues that may require complicated or complex solutions, adapt established approaches to the needs of the site and business, and coach and review the work of less experienced colleagues.
To be considered for the Network Operations Engineer role, here's what you'll typically need to bring with you:
At least five years of relevant experience in enterprise network operations or engineering, including incident investigation and resolution, network change implementation, infrastructure deployments, and lifecycle management.
At least five years of hands-on experience supporting Aruba enterprise network infrastructure.
Experience supporting switching, routing, wired and wireless networking, and site connectivity.
Experience owning defined components of projects, processes, or programs, including planning work and coordinating delivery with stakeholders and vendors.
A deep understanding of network engineering principles and how network infrastructure supports broader business and technology functions.
The ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and adapt established solutions to complicated and sometimes complex challenges.
Experience coaching colleagues and reviewing technical work.
Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively across Network Operations, site teams, and external vendors.
We would also prefer the Network Operations Engineer to have the following skills and experience:
Five years of experience with Palo Alto firewall technologies.
Microsoft Azure networking.
VeloCloud and SD-WAN technologies.
As the Network Operations Engineer, you will:
Own on-site Network Operations for East Aurora and assigned enterprise workstreams, including incident response, troubleshooting, infrastructure changes, hardware deployments, vendor coordination, and lifecycle management.
Independently investigate and resolve network issues, adapting established solutions to meet site and business requirements, including issues that require complicated and sometimes complex solutions.
Own and deliver defined components—and, where assigned, entire projects, processes, or programs—within your area of responsibility.
Develop and implement operational plans, technical solutions, and standards for assigned work.
Coordinate delivery with site stakeholders, vendors, and Global Network Operations.
Identify opportunities to improve service reliability and operational effectiveness, recommend best practices, and influence teams and partners to adopt them.
Coach less experienced Network Operations colleagues and review their work on incidents, changes, and project activities.
Communicate operational status, technical risks, incident findings, and recommendations across the Network Operations function.
Maintain accurate network documentation, asset records, procedures, and technical standards.
