Description

The company aims for a future with zero crashes, zero emissions and zero congestion, and its team of engineers and developers works on automated driving, including Super Cruise hands-free driving.

The role supports design, development, testing and rollout of lateral control software for Super Cruise and other active safety features, and helps set the direction for current and future ADAS software across all controllers, keeping software deliveries coordinated.

You will deliver production active safety and automated driving software on schedule and at high quality, designing efficient, well-structured software that can be reused across all scalable ADAS platforms. You will work with other ADAS application software teams to ship products with strong performance and new ideas.

Responsibilities

  • Build algorithms and real-time software for automated driving features such as Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Super Cruise 2.0, Super Cruise 3.0 and Front and Rear Impact Mitigation, improving baseline performance and cutting the manual calibration work needed.
  • Build a CI/CD pipeline that checks feature control performance on every software change.
  • Verify software and validate features through unit tests, SIL and HIL testing, and extensive in-vehicle performance testing.
  • Take part in the software change management process.
  • Keep test vehicles running the latest performance and manage the vehicle test fleet.
  • Support production calibration and help resolve field and customer issues.
  • Create new solutions and protect the intellectual property they produce through patents and publications.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, or in mechatronics, software, electrical or computer engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience developing control systems and/or motion planners.
  • Advanced control systems design skills, including robust, adaptive, nonlinear and model-predictive control.
  • Knowledge of online learning algorithms such as the Kalman filter and recursive least squares.
  • Experience with automotive simulation and validation (HIL and SIL).
  • Working knowledge of vehicle dynamics and numerical methods.
  • Experience with software design, Simulink modelling, Python and embedded C or C++.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
  • You learn on your own, adapt quickly and welcome change.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Nice to have: experience with functional safety and ISO 26262.
  • Nice to have: knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
  • Nice to have: knowledge of embedded control systems and industrial or automotive hardware controllers for ADAS.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with the CarSim and CarMaker vehicle dynamics simulation packages.
  • Nice to have: experience as a team leader.
  • Nice to have: experience with Agile or Scrum development processes and tools.
