Mid/Sr Software Developer

Description

The team supports a major systems application (MSA) and its operations and maintenance, modernizing space domain awareness and flight safety tools.

The work centers on containerized microservices in an AWS-based architecture, built in an agile setting with CI/CD practices.

You will build and maintain services on a modern framework using established development environments.

Responsibilities

• Apply sound practices to plan and carry out the program's software development approach.
• Contribute to the design, development, testing and performance analysis of services and the wider system.
• Build space domain awareness capabilities: observation scoring using the scoring process already developed, and truth data generation using the fusion process already developed.
• Integrate the scoring and fusion processes into the overall system.
• Create workflows that update the RSO database so the system can use it as its source of truth.

Requirements

• Hold an active Top-Secret clearance with SCI access (TS/SCI) and a CI poly.
• Hold a bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, information systems or a related field, or have equivalent experience.
• Have 5+ years of software engineering or software development experience on information technology systems.
• Have experience with object-oriented languages such as Java, JEE, C++ or Python.
• Have used libraries such as SpringBoot, Mockito, Lombok and OpenAPI (Swagger) to build RESTful services.
• Have worked with microservices and containerization technologies.
• Have supported systems engineering work, covering system design, solution engineering and software development.
• Nice to have: experience building applications managed in Git and built with Gradle.
• Nice to have: experience with Kafka, MongoDB, ActiveMQ, Nifi and/or other third-party tools.
• Nice to have: experience with integration and development tools for containerized applications deployed to a Kubernetes cluster with Helm Charts.
• Nice to have: experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Nice to have: experience with Linux and the command line interface.
• Nice to have: Security+ and/or DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification.

Conditions

The pay range is $118,000 - $225,560 USD, with a separate Colorado pay range and Virginia pay range listed at the same figures.

Pay depends on factors such as location, federal contract labor category, wage rates, experience, skillsets, education and certifications.
