Mid-Level Python Developer (GenAI)

Description

The company is hiring a GenAI engineer to build practical AI and agent features for client applications.

You will take features from prototype to production, building multi-step agent workflows and linking LLMs to external APIs and databases.

You will work with international engineering squads on production AI applications that do more than wrap an API.

Responsibilities

• Build stateful agent workflows with prompt templates and tool-calling, using frameworks such as LangGraph.
• Connect LLMs and AI agents to internal and external APIs, databases and third-party tools.
• Build and tune retrieval-augmented generation pipelines that use vector databases and structured outputs.
• Add rate limiting, content moderation and basic guardrails to user-facing AI features.
• Use AI coding assistants such as Cursor or GitHub Copilot to speed up coding, write unit tests and debug complex issues.
• Apply prompt evaluation, tracing and monitoring to keep AI component output reliable.
• Work with backend engineers and QA to fit GenAI components into the core product architecture.

Requirements

• Experience building agentic or LLM-driven workflows with LangGraph, LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• Hands-on work integrating LLM APIs and provider platforms such as OpenAI, Anthropic or Google Vertex AI.
• Working experience with vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate or pgvector, and with search and retrieval patterns.
• Strong async Python skills and experience building REST APIs with FastAPI for web or AI services.
• Familiarity with AI guardrails, evaluation techniques and observability tools such as Langfuse or MLflow.
• Professional English fluency and the ability to collaborate well in an agile, remote-first environment.
• Practical experience with AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor, or openness to adopting them.
• Familiarity with tool-calling standards or protocols such as MCP or A2A.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
• Familiarity with modern Python tooling such as uv, Poetry or Ruff.
• German language skills at B2 level or above.
