The CIO Technology Engineering team builds the digital products that strengthen the company's online presence and customer engagement.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain microservices-based applications that scale, stay secure and are easy to maintain.
• Work with senior engineers, architects and cross-functional scrum teams to deliver solutions that meet business and technical needs.
• Apply established engineering practices and standards, contribute to code reviews and take part in agile ceremonies.
• Take ownership of your deliverables, troubleshoot issues and keep building your technical skills and your knowledge of the wider system.
• Support junior developers, work across disciplines and share learning through the Community of Practice.
• Explore new technologies and approaches that help the team innovate and work more efficiently.

Requirements

• Proven experience building Java microservices in a commercial setting.
• Experience in agile delivery teams, with a sound grasp of iterative development and working together.
• Ability to take part in technical discussions and decisions, with a developing understanding of architectural principles.
• Experience supporting and mentoring junior developers, sharing knowledge and encouraging good practice.

Conditions

Hybrid working from the Bexhill or Leicester location, with days in the office and at home to be discussed with your recruiter.
